.......he was imprisoned with murderers for possessing drug paraphernalia, something that myself and many other non-violent, and law abiding people have been guilty of at some point in time but have never been caught........This kid was caught however and was imprisoned with violent offenders for a petty-ass crime and the judge was paid kindly for his "tough love" sentencing.

The crimes of the kid and the judge are not equal. Fuck Mark Ciavarella.

Truly, this man has earned every minute he ultimately spends behind bars. That being said, I am astonished at the number of "parents" who believe someone other than themselves should be responsible for raising their children. "He never tried to get him help..." Ma'am, shouldn't the responsibility for getting your son help lie with you? Far too often, parents want the court system, schools, churches, or the government to be responsible for what they are too lazy or incompetent to do themselves.

@dubgli He was guilty of possessing drug periphenelia. Usually a first offense like this would give you no jail time. But this judge was getting kick backs from the private prison system (an idiotic conservative idea anyway) for each kid he put away.  Hence the harsh sentences.
