I hear voices everyday. I struggle with 12 of them and have befriended 4 of them. Im glad I found this song. I have the book at home. I also see faces of all 16 of my voices. After reading the comments of people who also have schizophrenia, reading the book, and listening to this song its makes me feel better to know that there are people who have the same problem as me.
I read the book cover to cover and it's the best book to understanding schizophrenia. I am working on my masters in psychology and have recently encountered someone with schizophrenia. Lori has taken me into a deeper level of understanding the tormenting madness of the illness. I can honestly say that I have become a better person after reading this book!! I've been off meds for 3 months now and doing ok. The haldol and seroquel combo was too sedating, I couldn't care for my kids or myself. Now the voices are still there, and I see stuff too, but I keep telling myself that it's all a part of my disease, it's not real...sometimes it's hard, when I'm being screamed at by the person that lives in my head, but I just tell him to fuck off and keep my faith in God and in myself. Hopefully I can keep it up. Awesome song, amazing book.

I hulucinate, see things and hear things. i think my travel teacher is purposly changing my school exam marks, and chages my test so i get it wrong. i stapple my curtains shut and i write things like "i hate my life." "f*** my life" because i get suicidal. the voices say they guna get me, its a girl.

@GammerGirl1 i do..... i have paranoid schizophrenia i was diagnosed at 15 and i know that you may be developing schiz as they didnt think i had it at first but that was coz i wasnt telling them the full story.......... but the difference is my dellusions were really bizarre and i didnt know i was having them same with the hallucinations coz the truth is, its that real tha you dont know ur having hallucinations or dellusions as u lose contact with reality
but if you meant psychosis then its when a person loses contact with reality for example psychosis is the posative symptoms (hallucinations, delusions so on) of schizophrenia but it doesnt mean u have schiz it could mean u have bi-polar with psychosis or psychotic deppression or it could be caused with something organic such as an illness
Um, The doctor said he'll take a guess and it was schiz. But i definatly have phychois. Um, Im worried. I mean if im doagnosed with schiz whats going to happen? Im on medication that treats schiz. Risperidone. Thats my meds. My mom cant accept this she hates me now, Is my future worried if i get diagnosed with this? Can u tell me how your copeing? @GammerGirl1 i have paranoid schizophrenia and my voices told me to hurt other people and myself they told me if i killed myself then they could look after me better because the voices i heard were of dead people i had never met they also told me that my family didnt want me anymore and thats why they let the doctors take me to hospital
so i guess in a way they did tell me i was better off dead
I don't know if I have schizophrenia, and hopefully I will never will be told and hopefully I will never have it. My voice comes and goes, but has gone ever since he made me attack people at school. If he ever does whisper I just take the micky out of him and he shuts up. I have only lost one friend because I thought she was against me, but all my friends are the best friends I have ever met. xxx

You can take a prisoner out of the dungeon but that doesn't instantly make him better. And when i discorved weed before i had the voices went away. And then they take that from me and put me on this horrible medication that made everything worse. Now im on these meds that kinda work and i guess, you know, whatever.

I met the author of this book years ago in the Poconos at a conference for Mental Health professional. She was amazing. The medication changed her life. I hope everyone keeps their hopes and dreams alive because this disease will be more than treatable. It will be symptom free as we continue to research and find medications that help. My Brother committed suicide 3 years after he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. If you have schizophrenia and have thoughts of suicide please hold on and think of what your family has to go threw when your gone. Its been 6 years and I miss my brother everyday. Thanks for this video!

@wtmcgehee - i'm sorry that happended, but you have to look at life from his shoes. Imagine going through life being constantly told you're not good neough, and seeing everything, not being able to even think straight. It's difficult.
Once again, i'm deeply sorry for your loss.

This song explains it all basically. Thank you for making this song. I might be locked up soon, my psych tells me im too dangerous to be around. She has people put me in restraints so I won't kill her. ugh.

Hey he should have other stuff on youtube. He was on the CBC too. He is an MC and a Comedian, who has schizophrenia. Really helped us make sure we had everything right.

I met the author of this book years ago in the Poconos at a conference for Mental Health professional. She was amazing. The medication changed her life. I hope everyone keeps their hopes and dreams alive because this disease will be more than treatable. It will be symptom free as we continue to research and find medications that help. This women over came so much. Keep the faith. Great song.
