WHAT? The premiums for me and many others have gone up. My father's premium has more than doubled. Hence he had to take a lower tier health insurance. This means him and 2 kids cost him about 160 a week. His cost per week was half of that before the bill. And it is not a cadillac policy. Those policies are stated as having over 10,000 a yr for coverage his was half that amount.

How about the Senator who helped write the bill officially coming out yesterday that he wants his State to exempt itself from the HC bill. How's that for running for the hills! They say that Congress read the bill after the fact & they realize how bad the bill actually is. I live in NY & 40 - 60% of my General Tax Levy goes just to cover Medicaid. Estimates are that NY Medicaid enrollment will double under this plan. Well, I can't afford to pay 40 - 60% which is $1100 - 1600 after taxes!
Small businesses got over 20% increases this year in anticipation of having to insure people with pre-existing conditions. How about Michael Moore mentioning that it's cheaper for ins. co. to pay the $100/day penalty & still deny costly procedures (page 1187, I think). 2 large corps (think AT&T was one of them) said that their premiums were going to go up by 1 million dollars under this plan -- well, the scheduled hearings were promptly cancelled when the Senate found out they were right!

This bill will ultimately be declared unconstitutional! The lawsuits will start the second Obama signs it. It will never become law!
1) It violates the 10th amendment rights reserved to the states. You can not force these unfunded mandates upon the states.
2) It violates the constitution by forcing people to have a "life tax". In other words, if you are alive, you have to pay this tax! It would be the same as if you were to "TAX AIR TO BREATH"!

The problem was the Republicans were wasting his time. No matter what healthcare proposal was presented to congress everyone of them still would have voted against it. They made it clear to the press that voting against it was part of their agenda, they wanted to make it his waterloo. The problem with Obama is if he needed to pass it with just Democrat votes, he didn't need to compromise on the bill and could have passed something more France like rather than Bob Dole's 1995 plan.

Was it needed..maybe, but the deficit coupled with the entitlements (debt we owe to foreign nations) put us well into the red. (Last estimates was around 35 trillion). First mistake Obama made was not capping the malpractice insurance or regulation of prescription meds, which drive 3/4 bof the cost of healthcare.

Health insurance companies are age old banks. They did not want to go into the health insurance practice, but were forced to do so by members of Congress and the demand of insurance.

Forget about the measly 2% of the nation, I'm talking about the rest. Because of the need to "have the best money can buy" which everyone is guilty of, the cost of living and expenses goes up faster than one's personal wealth. I have been unemployed and have been without insurance, but I don't ask someone to do it for me.

They did not care that I was in school (amassing more personal debt) to better myself or that I had a car which was my only means to finding a job and finishing school. Socialism is the opposite of Capitalism. You see how well it went for Russia. When people become dependent on gov't, the gov't requires more of it's ppl. Government can print money, but that devalues it faster than anything else. So, the gov't will wither borrow (like from China) or tax the heck out of ppl to pay for those programs.

From 2001 to 2009, the U.S. Went from 18.7 billion in deficit to 1.4 trillion. What's more, is how can anyone stand up for tax cuts (especially for the rich) In the middle of a massive debt and deficit crisis. Trickle Down Economics doesn't work. The rich get money, and keep it, or spend it in different markets. Taxes need to be increased. And if you need any demonstration of why, look back to Nixon and Eisenhower's policies concerning taxes. They kept the books balanced.

WHAT? The premiums for me and many others have gone up. My father's premium has more than doubled. Hence he had to take a lower tier health insurance. This means him and 2 kids cost him about 160 a week. His cost per week was half of that before the bill. And it is not a cadillac policy. Those policies are stated as having over 10,000 a yr for coverage his was half that amount.

How about the Senator who helped write the bill officially coming out yesterday that he wants his State to exempt itself from the HC bill. How's that for running for the hills! They say that Congress read the bill after the fact & they realize how bad the bill actually is. I live in NY & 40 - 60% of my General Tax Levy goes just to cover Medicaid. Estimates are that NY Medicaid enrollment will double under this plan. Well, I can't afford to pay 40 - 60% which is $1100 - 1600 after taxes!

Small businesses got over 20% increases this year in anticipation of having to insure people with pre-existing conditions. How about Michael Moore mentioning that it's cheaper for ins. co. to pay the $100/day penalty & still deny costly procedures (page 1187, I think). 2 large corps (think AT&T was one of them) said that their premiums were going to go up by 1 million dollars under this plan -- well, the scheduled hearings were promptly cancelled when the Senate found out they were right!

The problem is that the CBO is still trying to figure out what this bill exactly costs. There is so many hidden things that were tossed in at the last second, even the Rank and file democrats have been surprised on its contents, after they were told lies by the Democratic leadership about what was in it.
Great example, ABORTION IS NOW LEGALLY FUNDED under this bill! BTW an Presidential order doesnt nullify this fact, no matter what Obama or any liberal tries to spin it!

Well said 123bigr, I agree with you on your point and analogy. Obama has a lot to clean up and I don't think he will be able to clean everything up during his term. I think people are being unrealistic and unfair blaming him for everything they don't like and calling the man names. It's just plain ignorant. At the end of the day, I'm POSITIVE that Obama is doing more to make the country better than ANY person who has insulted him.

It depicts with some graphic detail George Bush getting shot, and the movie basically says at the end that it was his own fault that he got killed. While I find the hateful rhetoric a small minority of people use talking about the president (any president), let's just keep in mind that this isn't a recent phenomenon.

This bill will ultimately be declared unconstitutional! The lawsuits will start the second Obama signs it. It will never become law!
1) It violates the 10th amendment rights reserved to the states. You can not force these unfunded mandates upon the states.
2) It violates the constitution by forcing people to have a "life tax". In other words, if you are alive, you have to pay this tax! It would be the same as if you were to "TAX AIR TO BREATH"!

It's almost like when a child throws a tantrum because he doesn't like what's going on or get his way. If you can have the same amount of coverage that you have now and which it was polled that over 80% of Americans were happy with their healthcare coverage and pay less, why would you go out and pay more for just a little bit better healthcare coverage?
He made the point that premium cost would go down due to the bill, yet they will go up because ppl will buy better insurance? Makes no sense.

He was saying that premiums would go down, however, the projection was that more people would be interested at better insurance that was offered at a more affordable rate. The Projection was that overall, people would be spending more, because they would be buying better coverage than they had currently had. However, for those who had stayed at the level of insurance they had, rates would drop.
