For some reason the arena is bugged for me, after I've talked to the Blademaster to get into an arena fight and walked into the arena, the gate that holds the gladiators away from the arena doesn't open. Oh and there is no voice telling about the teams and no gladiators either.

people i've got a problem.. i am a pure mage atm, the enemies were very easy until the high elf with the magic resistance shield. i tried the weakness to magic spell but it didnt work.

How can i kill this guy? my melee skills are very weak..

@kaas244 You might have to just train yourself up enough in something else. I just did the arena today in a fur coat and fur leggings, mostly at level one (leveled up at the end) and using a dinky sword. So I assume magic is the worst possible choice there.

@gilsman131 well its long gone now... same kinda thing happened to me .... i killed a imperial watch and put my redwave sword(enchanted cut less that can be gained easily) and a whole bunch of other enchanted weapons and armor inside the guy and than i went to prison and when i got out i went back to the same spot to regain my stuff and the body was gone and so was my stuff

there is a easy way to become grand champion if you want to avoid a difficult fight with the origional. simply do orgraks quest, the one where you get his fathers diary to prove his lineage. it will contain the truth that the "grey prince" is a vampire. along with gaining some blade skills, this will make him do ABSOLUTLY NOTHING when you fight him, making for a easy kill.

i did mine at level 2 ive only started the game but i found the arena very easy my trick is to when there running towards u hit them with few flames and then hit them with your sword befor they have chance to attack u and there usaly dead if not keep useing ya shield to block them off u

well it was easy at level 2 because the monsters scale with your level so at level maybe, 15 they are harder and they get harder and harder and harder as you level

yea, i dont like umbra's enchantment, but the ridiculous amount of damage it deals without enchantment compensates for its stupid soul trap. i still would prefer a nice good fire dot enchantment on a daedric longsword though as opposed to umbra.
