I'm a huge, rabid fan of the new BSG and I still found this video extremely compelling. Excellent choices of clips and soundtrack music, and the text you wrote added a wonderful sense of momentousness to it all. I hope people stumble onto this during the hiatus months and are convinced to watch BSG because of it.

Nice video, but one minor quibble ... stop using the word "decimated" as a synonym for "completely destroyed". To decimate something means to destroy a tenth of something, not all of it. It goes back to ancient Rome ... look it up.

Thanks. I don't doubt what you say about the word decimate. It makes sense that it would represent a tenth. However, it is also a recognised term for the almost complete destruction of something. Here is an exert from the online dictionary:

Synthlord is correct. Decimation was a punishment used by the Romans to punish a cohort, that involved 1/10th of the unit being put to death. There are plenty of online resources that give the correct history and definition of the word out there.

Please look at the dictionary definition of decimated...you are both quite correct, but there is a second definition which states that it means to destroy almost all of something. Wish I hadn't used that word now lol.  Thanks anyway :)
