I finally managed to find a tiny7 iso but whenever i try to install it, it gives me an error message and part of it says make sure installation media is acessible and then it gives me an error message. So right now I am stuck with tinyVista and by the way the computer i am trying to install it on is a hp pavilion 8570C with a 450 mhz pentium 3 and 256 megabytes of ram and a 19 gigabyte hard drive and to cdrom drives.

@mrSqueakyRAT XP would run better, however, Tiny7 would run, but not Windows 7. 1GB is the minimum to run Windows 7.

I installed windows Starter 7 (final) on a Toshiba Satellite with the following configuration:

Intel Celeron 1.1GHz

512MB RAM (DIMM)

HD 40GB IDE

Video 64Mb

Wireless Networking

CD and DVD

The system runs satisfactorily and gives access to the internet without problems. I'm enjoying the performance in an old notebook.

I run a full blown Win7 home premium on a 2004 Acer Aspire 3000. I dont want to get into lite versions anymore, since most of them lack driver support for my laptops very specific hardware

hey to tell you the truth, i think i am the first person(maybe) from windows 98se upgraded to windows200 on same laptop and soon moved to xp and i got bored and upgraded to tiny vista on same pc and now i am using win7 lite on the same pc, so i moved from windows 98 se to win7 and now i am using 3rd party software(drivers) anyway my laptop is ibm i series celeron(pentium 2) 700mhz with 384mb ram and 30gb harddisk

@ca280491 When the Thinkpad 570 was manufactured 256MB SODIMMS did not exist. The 440BX Chipset can handle up to 512MB. I simply installed a 16 chip low density 256MB PC100 SODIMM which adds to the built in 64MB that comes with the Thinkpad 770. I will be making another video showing the entire boot up from power to the desktop. Just search Google and you will see a Thinkpoad 570 can indeed handle 320MB of ram :)

@LoneWanderer83 Windows 7 should run really nice on your 570E. If you need help getting the video driver working right let me know because I have had great success on multiple vintage laptops. I had 7 running nicely on a Thinkpad 770 too but never could get that Trident video card to do 2D acceleration but i will even get that working when I have the time.

@ValpocadeVegas It worked! I have W7 running on my 570E with 320MB RAM. It runs just as fast as XP does.
