Unfortunately Sev missed what Moe meant by swinging ' into the golf course'. He was not talking about swinging down into the ground - what he meant that his lack of rotation ( Moe felt there was much less rotation in his move) meant the club was always within the 'course' - his tunnel view of the target and the target line. Follows his idea of staying so long on the target line.
@ispyonline Not sure how to respond to this. I am talking about anwsers to questions that I asked Moe directly in person. He delivered straight to me just about as plain as it can be. I said "You mean out there and down here?" pointing out into the golf course and then down to the ground. He said "Why sure." I don't know what else to say except in what he and I were discussing there was nothing to miss.
I'm blown away by that now dead old MASTER, but that swing about killed me. I guess my knees could not handle the spread-out stance and longer clubs, heavier and stiffer shafts and tipped clubs.
Moe's swing REALLY works, but takes a ton of athleticism to duplicate-- serious torque and "chasing" after the ball.
Great. What they say and what they mean is two different things. Hogans book greatness. Many self taught golfers read it. Thanks for this video wish I had your swing.
I have heard Moe state that he started his downswing with his left leg/knee. Actually, he started opening up the knee during the near the end of the backswing, since the swing motion is one continuos motion.
That wasnt done actively by his legs though. That was just a biproduct of his setup and takeaway move. The knee just responds that way if you do it correctly.
Clubhead closed and curl under? can you explain that action. I dont understand curl under, maybe with a slowmotion video. I really wanna learn. You swing fantastic!
