The spotter was pulling up. Even though he wasn't in a position to exert a ton of force, you can easily subtract 50 pounds or more off the total of the bench just by pulling up slightly. Also, arching his back is really stupid and he needs to quit.
The bench was legit for a gym lift, albeit there needs to be a 1 second pause for competition. The spotter was not in a position to add much force on the bar, if any at all. If something had gone wrong, you'd quickly have seen the spotter change his stance and get under the bar... one would hope.

2.This is "bench press" not a "body press" your primary targeted muscle is your chest, and secondaries including your triceps, deltoids, shoulders, and a little bit of your forearms.
3.The spotter should be very aware of you benching (unlike the last video) but this one is the complete opposite he is helping TOO MUCH its okay to have your hands ready as long as they don't make contact with the weight this is why when i work out i work out alone! Although if you can find someone with common sense of spotting then thats always a plus.
4.Make another video and bench press about 265 and i bet you'll do it with proper form and get a good 5-6 reps out of it then work your way up from that then make a 3rd video with you doing it the way i told you! You can do it! WOOOHOOOO!

the back arch...guys, our backs our naturally arched. that is their natural and correct position, so in one sense, yes, it is correct to have an arched back while benching, but its correct to have your back arched and in its natural position for EVERYTHING! but with this video, mostly the first one, your hips come waaaay off the bench, which then increases the angle of your back arch, hyperextending it, and the amount of stress on it to levels that it shouldn't even come close to

I am just wondering why the spotter never takes his hands off the bar? it appears he is getting help on each rep he does!! do a new post and dont let the spotter hold the bar. he shouldnt touch it until u are stopped and not moving, then take the bar and rack it!!

The spotter was pulling up. Even though he wasn't in a position to exert a ton of force, you can easily subtract 50 pounds or more off the total of the bench just by pulling up slightly. Also, arching his back is really stupid and he needs to quit.

The bench was legit for a gym lift, albeit there needs to be a 1 second pause for competition. The spotter was not in a position to add much force on the bar, if any at all. If something had gone wrong, you'd quickly have seen the spotter change his stance and get under the bar... one would hope.

1. 315 pounds is not 2x your body weight 315/2 is 157 pounds, thats definitly a lie.
2.This is "bench press" not a "body press" your primary targeted muscle is your chest, and secondaries including your triceps, deltoids, shoulders, and a little bit of your forearms.

3.The spotter should be very aware of you benching (unlike the last video) but this one is the complete opposite he is helping TOO MUCH its okay to have your hands ready as long as they don't make contact with the weight this is why when i work out i work out alone! Although if you can find someone with common sense of spotting then thats always a plus.

he is not going to hurt your back and it is safer to do heavy weights without the clip in case it drops you can slide the weights off, and when you lift you are supposed to have a natural curve in your back.
