Its been six months now since I asked, Can anyone provide even a single article from a serious journal or a paper from a juried conference that documents a link between the use of MI in school and improved performance?
No one has provided even ONE of these.
I dont intend this as a criticism of those who discuss MI (thats important); rather, its an accurate picture of the lack of valid support for MI.
@mutefish Actually in the scientific community the quote is most commonly attributed to Carl Sagan who used it in his famous "Baloney Detection Kit" An apt tool for considering MI claims.
But your point Are you conceding that MI has no research base? If so, what principle should we use when deciding upon curriculum? Scientific rigor has given us amazing advances in engineering, aeronautics, medicine, etc. Should what/how we teach be held to a lower standard? Do school children deserve less?
@chrishmca ill stick to crediting Cheney. i haven't researched whether MI has a research base and don't care to. becuase im not making school policy nor am i a propagandist for MI. it seems obvious to me that some people have greater capacities in one area or another.
the primary problem with schools is that their only real goal is to engender respect for authority and a pattern of submitting to bureaucratic rule. unless you go to an elite school where you are trained to harvest the crop.
Can anyone provide even a single article from a serious journal or a juried conference paper that documents a link between the use of MI in school and improved performance? Im talking about observations of real school children & tasks.
Self-proclaimed educational consultants (mainly uninformed school-hustling, pedagogy pimps) take thousands of dollars from schools and claim that MI can help schools and children and offer no support for this claim. Can anyone cite ANY VALID evidence?
Logic is something we depend on. Without any basic or elementary logic we can't perceive anything. Without any basic logical ability we can't have so much as one single perception. Pretty much all we do is, to some degree or another, affected by our logical ability. Some areas require higher logical ability than others. If you have a good logical ability, and are motivated enough, you can learn how to use your logical ability to properly handle most aspects in life. End of story.
as somebody who can really understand people it seems that most people are severely lacking in interpersonal intelligence regardless of their other intelligences
Nah, I wasn't consciously implying anything (just a random free association that was dredged out for unknown reasons while viewing this video), but I agree, it does sound ironic.
no way. that kid will be the next fucking Buddha and he will stop on your face. i mean, assuming he gets a little larger. he does look slightly deformed. but maybe he just dances that well.
that kid wont get larger. That's all hes got. but on the bright side im sure he has a nice career in ballywood doing freak parts. probably more than you could say for yourself.
you dont know shit about ballywood. shut the fuck up. i may not know for sure how valid this idea of multiple intelligences is but i know now that you dont fall into any of the possible categories.

as the great and infallible Dick Cheney once said -
"The absence of evidence isn't the same as evidence of absence. "
