@DREZ33 that was so easy to do because prior to 9/11 we had no real reason to be hunting bin laden....if i recall correctly, we weren't in the middle east until after 9/11. in fact, 9/11 was the REASON we went into the middle east. so of course they were able to interview him, he wasn't wanted until a while later.
as for the warned threats, yeah there were warnings...but remember how we dont negotiate with terrorists? we tried calling their bluff and unfortunately it didn't work.

Horrible to be sure, but don't you all realize that nearly every product or service sold on the planet is someone "capitalizing" on the needs of others? Food, clothing, housing, health care, car repair, education, etc - everything is based upon someone is suffering - in a small way or a large way - and someone else is making money from it. So making money off bad things is not in itself an issue. Traders' gleefully making money from it...kind of disturbing of course.

The good thing about this, is his complete honesty. I think all of us are like this to an extent. How many of us would watch videos of other people's suffering for entertainment? I worked for a TV station then. We make bonus money from commercial time in productions. Usually, the bonus was $1,000 or $1,200.
That year, I made TWICE that. Why? Because people are glued to their television sets watching the aftermath, with "We'll be back to America Under Attack after these commercials.."
My wife and I donated the money.
I resigned shortly after that. I had dedicated my life to television, and in the end, I felt dirty.

You're both largely wrong. The two "systems" are deeply ingrained in the corporate mentality in that they represent the exact same one percent of the population. They just happen to choose to make their argument to different factions within the richest one percent: One chooses to appeal to the moral "idealists" while the other chooses to focus on the "realists." it's not free-markets that's to blame. Free markets doesn't say that corporations can be legal persons - it's the law.
And sure there are externalities produced by corporations, but that can be limited by government.
Greed doesn't need justification - it happens. Free-market capitalism is a way of allowing that greed to manifest into better things.

i have to disagree on the last part. greed being a defect and something bad, cannot turn things into something better, by definition. also, the way we behave is the result of how the society is structured, if theres greed in a society, its because that same society promotes it somehow. we repeat the patterns of the culture we've grown in. so behavior -greed included- doesnt just manifest spontaneously on individuals in a society, its the 'spirit' of the society that speaks through the individual

When a person or entity wants something, they will inherently want the most, or the best. The moment he understands the idea of self-interest, and this idea comes from him wanting to satisfy needs and wants, and if he is FREE, then he will act in self-interest.
Only when others are deprived of that resource, or when they take from others directly is it considered greed.
Free market capitalism, uses that will to get rich. If you don't prevent others from richness, there isn't bad in it.
