That stuff reminds me of a sweet they have in SE Asia, a kind of jelly thing, based on coconut...it's usually green and has a green texture and a green taste. To my taste it's gross, like sucking the nose of someone with flu. That stuff in the video is probably 'agar agar,' or something from a seaweed base right? I found that SE Asian countries don't know how to do deserts, putting sweetcorn and red beans on ice cream...bluuuaa!

@discoverydavid i happen to be living in a country in SE Asia, and we do know how to make desserts =.= we can do normal desserts like cakes, icecreams, etc, and we have our more traditional desserts and snacks but i forgot the names cause they're too many of them and some of the names arent even in english so i often forgot wat its called XD maybe u tried something u weren't fond of, but there are others that are nice and sweet and more appetizing then the one u described

@witchrox IMHO there is no east/west comparison. Yes I am western but I lived on the Thai Cambodian border for 10 years and I only found 1 or 2 desserts that pleased 'my' taste-buds. There are incredible fruits like mangosteens in SE Asia, but aside from Chinese Moon cakes there isn't a tradition of using fruits in pastry. In fact people don't cook with ovens and there is no history of flour or dairy production either. Desserts don't exist traditionally they are recent imports.

@discoverydavid and yes we do have red bean ice cream but if ur expecting another taste, they're just sweet and really good and has bits of red beans inside for that red bean texture in ice cream, erm...sweet corn...im not so sure, so far i only ate corn either on its own, or in those corn cups
