Your videos really make me want to go to Japan...If only I had the money to leave the UK for good and up and move there. Hiroshima is the one place in the whole world i'd love to live :( Sadly i'm only 18, still living with my parents and have a low-paid job...maybe one day i'll have enough to live...
TO THE HATERS: Hiroshima's peace park & musium is there to rimind us to never have a war again. How can you feel that mean when all Hiroshima is telling us to do is to wish for pease forever and carry it to the next generation? Japan has a law to not hold an army and not to fight in war. I just think it's beautiful and maybe other people think that too..
To Mr. Scarface 3883, too bad you haven't learned yours. Yet.
To Xytrasx, Thanks so much for the visit back to Japan. I lived in Iwakuni, 50 m. S. of Hiroshima, and spent a lot of time traveling around the area. That was back in '88-89. One of the greatest places on earth, the people were very graciuos, kind and welcoming. How long were you in Japan? We lived in Iwakuni and visited around the area extensively. Did you visit the Shu-Keikien Gardens in Hiroshima? Domo arigato!
i think it is kind of ironic that we bombed the heck out them in 1945 and now japan is just as much a part of our culture and vice versa. also very ironic how the people in hiroshima are the nicest. i guess japanese are good at forgive and forget the past, we should learn that from them.
You know that river that you walked by is also significant since hundreds of people who were burning alive from the bomb flung themselves in there and drowned, Even now there are still bodies in the river and when the water level drops you are able to see some of them.
@UBIX89 I've been to Hiroshima before although the river was high at the time so I didn't see anything. Doesn't help of course since it was in the summer and the rainy season was on, but however some of the museum people and my grandma's niece told me they've seen it before. you can just imagine the amount of people who jumped in because they're clothes were burning and flesh burning off them trying to find relief in the water only to find the water itself to be boiling hot from the bomb.
Wow!!! That is quite an experience... it's pretty awesome!! I'm really wanting to visit even more and just watching these videos of your trip really make me feel as though I am in japan walking around with you.
i used to live in ueno area in tokyo, my girl friend (now my wife lol) in yokohama. I visited Kyoto in my school days, and Himeji and Hiroshima last year. your videos really remind me of those days :) hope you enjoy and continue your nice trip in Japan.
