  • Killer axe dude, check out mine I have a couple of schecter limited ed. I'm gonna buy the 35th anniv. c-1 black!

  • Nice, but you completely lost the whole feeling and meaning of the song. When improvising to something, try to keep the original emotion and feeling and embody it in your improvisation. You turned a mellow, almost depressing song into an action-race. In context, your notes are clean, fast and steady. The solos in the song are almost out of sync, played with slow, deep emotion and gritting bends that tear your heart. Both are equally good, just try to choose a style more fitting to the song.

  • hey mann awesome playing! would you recommend this over the schecter c1 hellraiser

    thanks:) x

  • hey man can you tell me something about this guitar ? i want to buy one

  • hey man nice work

if you dont mind me asking

what u recording the audio with

    sounds awesome

also how much did u get that guitar for and where from

    cheers, Marty

  • lol, this makes my improv job look like Junk, Nice!

  • You obviously are a skilled player, but I can't say I like your tone at all. Plus, you are playing a too loud of a volume compared to the song, making if difficult to hear how well your note choices relate to the chords. Finally, there is just something very wrong with you playing another solo over the top of Mikael Åkerfeldt's absolutely brilliant solo.

  • Don't get me wrong, this is just practice using pp tree as a backtrack to do my own thing, ya know stretching the fingers and getting the creative juices flowing. No one to jam with that week. Porcupine Tree is great stuff but I'm not trying to play it or improve on it. Anyway , thanks for the comments

  • @MyUserName877 mikeal akerfeldt isn't in porcupine tree. thumbs down.

  • @darrenedesignedu

I'm well aware of the fact that Mikael Akerfeldt isn't in PT. However, he DOES appear as a guest (vocals, guitar) on Deadwing, including playing that terrific mellow solo in Arriving Somewhere, but Not Here.

Perhaps you should know what you're talking about before you criticize somebody who does.

Go to PT's wikipedia page for the Deadwing album if you don't believe me.

  • That is one sexy guitar (I use Schecter too ;))

  • They sure play nice. Lot's of of quality guitar for the money

  • dammm dood... that sounded like van halen got into pt.....wrong... just plain worng...

    otherwise, nice skills.

  • John Stewart is also on in the background, it's a combination of both :) Porcupine Tree is awesome.

  • Dude, Awesome, really really awesome. Wish I was good at improv.

  • Hey thanks Sticklah, I just play every chance I get and keep guitars in strategic locations :)

  • Great job! You expressed your creativity on an existing piece of work and even added value.

    Keep on goin'.

    Cheers.

  • Thanks LionTrace !!

  • Very great work. I only wish I could play that well. I'm curious though...what is the purpose of the knob you keep reaching to? I dont hear any differences in anything but you keep reaching to it. And it looks like you are only turning it one way...how far does it go?? Maybe it's just a condition(learned) response.

Anyway, great job on a great song!

  • Thanks fosgate3, that would be the tone knob that I didn't even know I was reaching at until I uploaded this vid. Now that I'm aware of it I don't do it anymore. Wierd. It wasn't being turned or used.

  • really good improv. skills, really clean.

  • Hey , thanks , I was sick with flu for almost two weeks, couldn't even try to play, this was the first day I felt healthy and wanted to play again.

  • you have awesome flow on the guitar, 49-53 is very tasteful

  • thankyou chcknips :)

  • what guitar u have?

  • This one is a schecter 30th anniversary c1. It has a seymor duncan sh1 and sh11 pickups, coil tap and ebony fretboard.

  • What are your effects and amp ?

  • crate solid state half stack with onboard fx, not sure which model. Inexpensive amp.

  • Great work! Really impressive

  • Well Thankyou, background music is 'Porcupine Tree', just discovered them a couple days before, kinda infectious, makes ya wanna play :)
