  • GREAT RIFLE ! I have a 700 and would have no other gun , really dependable , laser accurate and I couldn't have gotten a better gun , also I can hunt anywhere with it.

  • "survey says", someone has been watching family feud haha

  • oh and that scope is crazy long not sure if thats a sun shiled or just scope , i dont think I can afford the scope?

  • i knew there was a use for old astro vans lmao

  • "nothing feels better." (slides in) ahhhhhhh

    lol

  • didnt look like you were using a rear rest or bags...first rounds through the rifle im guessing.....WIIIINDY i can hear it and see that plastic on the bench just a flappin.....good shootin

  • What is the price of a 700 Remingtom ai, aq in Brazil is difficult the see the advice regard to weapons of porte.ea luneta.Entra me.and contact email cxaba007@hotmail.com

  • what's the distance of the shot!? that should be in the description!

  • This is not some freek of nature, this is a Remington. If it surprises you with this kind of accuracy, than check your pulse. You can expect this any time, if the accuracy is a problem turn down the trigger pull, get rid of that cheap scope and buy a quality one and bed the reciever.

  • What was the distance you were at?

  • What was the scope you guys were using?

  • When you bought the Rem 700 was it pillar bedded from the factory ? I know some are not. Just checking to see witch ones are, and the ones that are not. Best, yl

  • were u guys adjusting for the wind at all?

  • great

  • you're not supposed to use your vehicle as a target backer. Or are you?

  • i built my police sniper rifle by converting a remington 700 sps varmint. I chose it because of the 26 inch barrel. check out my channel and watch the vid.

  • nightforce scope?

  • Nice ..

  • do you think the guy at the dollar store would take that quarter?

  • That is a nice rifle!!!

  • thats a big scope

  • awwww, that beer was full too

  • HELP

    what is better ( talking about accuracy ), a m24 24'' barrel or a remington 700P 26'' barrel?

  • @FranciscoSRO2 If your shooting .308 shorter can be better.

  • @FranciscoSRO2 about the only difference in the barrel lengths is going to be your projectile velocity. Theoretically, the longer the barrell the faster the round. each inch increases 50 to 100 feet per second. the longer barrell will get you out farther more accurately.

  • how far away was the target?

  • i own a remington 700, but its wooden with a monte carlo stock and it fires 30.06

  • well said boss... keeping it real is always good...

  • Damn nice! What optics and loads were you using? I am considering the purchase of a 700p and would like to hear any suggestions. Thanks for the video

  • I'm hoping to pick up an SPS Varmint in .308.

This only makes me want it more!

Nice rifle, nice Leupold scope and nice Harris bipod! With a bit of practice, and a few more rounds through the barrel to break it in, you'll be able to cut that quarter in half through the edge!

    Happy shootin'!

  • As for the (not that good crowd)... would you sit out there at 500 yards and let these guys shoot at you? Are you positive they couldnt hit you? Stop bitching, crack a beer and enjoy the vid!..... Nigga puleeez

  • Remington 700........................as itself

  • good video thanks for sharing. With a new rifle even 100yrds is not bad whatever you nay sayers believe. What scope is that A1?

  • Come on guys, this is a goofy fun video of my buddy Dave getting his new rifle dialed in for the first time. The grouping sucked but it's two fat asses having fun. Toward the end of that season we were shooting water bottles at 850 yards. On the 100 yard stuff we were shooting quarters.

Please just try to keep things in perspective...

  • So I bet you get this all the time but where and how much for this Rifle?

  • Funny how everyone that commented below and said your groups were "not that good" dont seem to have any vids of there own rifle shooting. I would like to see these armchair snipers shot groups.

  • Just ignore them bud, some people just come on the internet to be negative. Nice vid. I'm from the UK and I'm hoping to get a remington 700 when I finally complete my liscence (which will take a long time) - and the trouble is that our local range is only 50 yards (no challenge at all). But I'm hoping to find somewhere else to shoot with more chalenging distances. But I'll probably end up getting a Remington 700 and a Lee Enfield as my 2 303/308 calibre guns. (We're limited to what we can own).

  • if that was 100 yards that group is not that great

  • yeah with a scope at 100 yards you should be cutting the paper

  • those groups are not really that good

  • If the groups are at 500 yards they are pretty good but at 100 yards they aren't very good I would have to agree.

  • what range is that?

  • whats the name of the thing in the berrel i know its to sight it in but im gonna get one but that one looks the best and how mutch do they cosp plese let me know

  • zero your scope yet? i would like to see you put a group inside the quater... it can be done....

  • damn 2 clicks down two to the left

  • Great shooting, nice rifle and cool video!

  • Comment removed

  • nice gun.

  • How much is this gun for the total amout scope and all??? THANKS

  • My .300 Win Mag version was $1100 for the rifle, $1400 for a Nightforce 3.5X15X56mm MLR scope, and $100 for the Harris mountable bipod so it can range in price quite a bit.

  • Set up some steel plates that are 1.5 inches thick and the diamiter of a softball out to 300 yards. than go to 400 yards.

    Watch David G Tubb.

Dave that rifle can shoot better than you can. lower the bench, you are bent over your rifle, you will get better accuracy.

  • optics?

  • What distance are you shooting at? Hope its not only 100yds. You need to straighten your head up some. Leaning over way too much. Also need to substitute a salad with one of your meals on a daily basis. Your heartbeat is moving you way too much when your belly is all squished when sitting down. Nice rifle. Take advantage of its accuracy. You should be shooting groups like that at 2-300 yds.

  • Change the stock to a McMillan M4A5 to any heavy barreled Remington .308 and there you go! The same rifle Out of the box you have a tack driver.

I have a 6.5x284 built on a .3006 Remington action 5 shots will make one hole at 100Yards. I like this one better.

A .308 Savage out of the box is far better.

  • nice rifle

  • What kind of scope is this? Thanks

  • NICE IRON GOOD HITS 5/5

  • Sorry george... sir!

    LOL

  • nice gun! shotting at 100m I'm guessing? I have a Savage M110 tactical with the accu-trigger in 30-06sprg that I absolutely love!

  • Whats the distance you guys were shooting?

  • I know in the description it says that this is the police version of the 700, but exactly what model is that? I assume the SPS? I'm looking at getting a Remington 700 in .308 and I want it to be as close to what the police use as possible.

  • excellent! question cause.... i was wondering the same thing

  • you cant really buy police models of weapons, however the 700 sps tactical is a good choice, got mine 2 weeks ago its about as close as ill get

  • Remington will sell you the M24 SWS made for the US Army. If its not full auto, and made in the USA (and many that are not), you can have it.

  • hey guys what scop do you recomend... for a rem 700 308 win. for 500m to 1000m

shooting both hunting and target shooting...and it must not be to expenicve ;) THANX

  • A Super Sniper fixed 10 power scope from SWFA should get you out there just fine.

  • looks like a nc star scope i have a nc star scope on a remington sps varmint almost the same setup you have and i can shoot .6 moa yours has the better stock so you should be able to shoot better

  • shut up

  • Um, lol. Dumbest thing I've ever heard. Read "Marine Sniper 93 confirmed kills". When Carlos Hathcock (the greatest sniper ever)was shooting for the Wimbledon Cup he didn't know where he was hitting. At a distance like 1,000 yards, windy and no spotter its a tough call with all the variables.

And don't try to call this guy an idiot, Carlos hathcock couldn't tell sometimes, plus look at the description, its new, its more then likely not going to be spot on with the first shot.

  • Big respect for carlos hathcock, carlos is an icon.A legeng among snipers as well as soldiers. He once stalked an Nva general for three days, each night he dragged himself on his stomache a little closer,,the mission was suicidal,he had nva guards almost step on him a couple of times,he made his shot, the general was dead, shot in the head, carlos got away with close to 1000 nva soldiers looking for him.a As you know this guy was/is the best.sorry, when i saw his name i had to comment.Dig him.

  • Yeah, except it was a heart shot, everything else is right though.

  • Its been a while since i read the story,i read the story years ago and its what made me get interested in shooting, particulary F class long distance shooting.thanks for setting me straight.

  • which eye do you shoot with maybe try a left hand rifle

  • Yeah, I'm in that phase. Ima take a 700P, 7mm Mag, strip it of everything but it's action, get a custom barrel and trigger, HS Precision stock, muzzle brake and recoil reducer in the stock, a Leupold and a Harris bipod. It's gonna be sweet.

  • yep thats the best thing you can do, then get the action trued.

  • Keep in mind guys Dave and I went through a "sniper rifle" phase and his (and mine) are police sniper rifles. We put all the tactical scopes and other stuff on it. So, for the most part they are really impractical for much other than target shooting. They are really heavy (compared to a hunting rifle). Now, that doesn't mean you couldn't use it for a hunting rifle and they are pretty darn accurate (not in this video because we were just setting everything up).

  • @duaneellison And why not use it for hunting? Do you also do competitions with that setup?

  • If any can answer, what remington is it, what bipod is on it and wat sling if on it? Thanks

  • The info says it's a Remington 700P. Bipod is a Harris, probably an HBR 6"-9". Sling looks like $10 sling you can get anywhere.

  • Its a luepold Mark V scope and remington model 700P.

  • Whats a good reminton 700 model thats good for hunting moose/deer?

  • any kind as long as the caliber is big enough.

  • 700 BDL

700 CDL if your using a scope

308 mag 30-06 springfeild or 270 wincheaster should fit your needs

  • how much was that?

  • What kind of scope is that im looking for one for my R700

  • its a remington 70 not an r700, stop supporting ignorance.

  • actually its a remington 700..not a r700 or a

    remington 70...just look it up

  • i meant to type 700, the term "R700" came from a videogame that called it that. this is not a correct name for it. My guess is tyhey call it that for copyright issues etc.

and because of this we have kids runnin around talking about R700s that dont really exist. i own a remington 700 btw.

  • bah who cares. r700, remington 700, you know what they mean by r700 anyway.

  • i fired 1 of these in .223 for the first time a few days ago it was my mates rifle he was using 75gn heads loaded with an auto disc i put 3 rounds through the same hole at 100yrds for the price these rifles are amazing well worth the money i will be getting at least 1 of these grate video

  • how much are they?

  • for a 700 vtr .223?

  • not sure how much they are in the U.S but in the uk they about £800 normaly for U.S prices i found if you just change the £ sign to a $ sign

  • i have seen r700 police for anywhere from $690 to over $1000 for just the rifle. Just keep hunting and you can find a good deal.

  • I got a Remington 700 SPS Tactical which exactly the same as this one, but mine has a 22 inch barrel (the one on the pic is 26") and is chambered for .223. I paid $575 in FL for it. The one shown on the vid is the Police version, it comes with everything scope, rings, bipod, etc ans it cost around $1k

  • lmao!! sorry george...sir.

  • how much was the rifle? and could somebody find me an estimate on how much a 700pss would cost in indiana please? as of now, im getting a 700sps, but i would prefer to get a 700pss. thanks :]

  • jarhead about a grand for the 700p in 308 and another 1500 for decent optics like a leupold mk4 6.5-20x50 or a nightforce 5.5-22x56. people seem to forget that these are precision rifles, you don't just throw a cheap scope from walmart on them. i'm right around the $3100 mark with action truing, bedding, scope, rings, base

  • well it matters what you are using the rifle for a 100 dollar scope will do much more than most require.

  • is beautiful..I WANT IT!!!

  • my 20" 700pss with a tasco black diamond scope grouped tighter than that out the box. i blame it on the long throat and store bought ammo. ive never shot anything but handloads and even from brand new it held never over .75 and usually floated around .55 the limiting factor is my crappy shooting ability. this was my first bolt gun, but not my first time working up loads.

  • thats a crap grouping! i hope you were reeeaallllyyy far away or shooting junk hunting ammo or something. that rifle will do so much more. you should be putting 3 rnds in the same hole at 100yds. shoot 168gr sierra match king, max load of varget winchester brass and regular old junk primers. it will hold about .5-.75 moa easily. and mines the 20" version. mine has a 3-9 scope, you appear to have the hubbell mounted on that rifle. ur lettin me down smalls.

  • Come on Dave, that sure was a crap grouping for your first three shots out of the box. And Duane, your aim was a little high on that coin. I say you buy a Wal-Mart special scope for your next rifle, then you would be putting rounds through the same whole at 100 yards with your first three shots out of the box.

  • so would a rifle in .308 cost more than a rifle in .223? thats what my friend thinks. and isnt there an 11% sales tax on firearms? you have a very nice rifle. i know it had a very powerful scope, but do you think a 3x-9x scope would be good enough for no more than 500 yards?

  • no a 223 and 308 are both the exact same rifle, just the reamer they used to make the chamber is a different size as well as the hole in the barrel. both are nato calibers and extremely easy to locate surplues ammo for. however i wouldnt shoot that crap in a nice gun. match ammo will cost about the same reguardless of caliber, and sales tax varies state to state. 3-9 tasco was used on my 700 pss with outstanding results. whole set up cost about a grand. worth every penny.

  • did you guys break in the barrel or just pull her out of the box and go to town ? and if so what style of breaking in did you use [ theres alot of them out there lol]

  • What scope are you using on that rifle, looks nice

  • Dave's scope is a Leupold MK4 Tactical Illuminated Reticle 8.5 - 25 power 50mm tube. It's REALLY nice...

  • what caliber is your 700 in? i want to get a 700 sps in .308, but im not sure wether to get it in .308 or .223 because of ammo cost. plz give any suggestions and good video.

  • It's a 308 Winchester. We were going through a 308 phase at the time and 308 is a more traditional sniper rifle. I think either the .223 or .308 would be a good run rifle to shoot. We were also wanting to shoot longer range - our desert range was 850 yards.

  • cool. one more ?. does a rifle in .308 cost more than the same rifle in .223? the rifle you guys have is very nice, but there is no way id be able to afford that. and do you think a 3x-9x would be good for shooting out to about 500 yards?

  • those fat asses are not bad shots at all.

  • Thanks - I hate to report that those asses haven't shrunk either!

  • Hi, nice shooting! How many yards are you shooting?

  • I don't really remember. Generally we sighted in the scopes at 100 yards and adjusted from there. That was probably 100 yards but we also used the van at 300. Or long range was back toward the hill (on the hill) and it laser ranged at 850 yards.

  • Too much finger on that trigger

  • Dave has meat sausages for fingers... Can't really get around that too much for him.

  • hey im kind of new to long range shooting if i can call it that. i got a ruger 10/22 2 years ago and i got a scope for christmas this year. its a redhead from bass pro shop. what im wondering is it that hard to shoot with a rest like that or what because the gun is locked or what? i usually hold the rifle without a bipod or anything and i was hitting bowling pins at 150 yards. is that any good?

  • you can do better than that. You need to custom fit your ammo to your rifle... reloading. You should be getting one whole. Also I bet it came with the king kong trigger. Upgrade it... bring it down to at least 3lbs; it will help.

nice shooting though. I love your range. good use of broke down van. to think I gave mine to charity. ;-]

  • We all reload our own match grade ammo - at least for these rifles. The GS in Ridgecrest worked the trigger and made it beautiful. It was pretty ugly before that. Mine on my Ruger M77VLE is pretty darn nice out of the box and didn't need any work.

  • hi wat distance were you shooting at

  • If I remember correct it was just 100 yards. We had a good setup there. The van was a decent backdrop - although it was kind of irritating when someone first left it's burnt out shell there.

Anyway that little area gave us a good 100 to 800 yard range. Toward the end of the year we were shooting bowling pins and water bottles at 800 yards (laser range finders) and it was REALLY cool. Dave (man guy in the video) has a couple of awesome shooting benches that he bought that really helped.

  • on this remington 1/2 or less moa is what you should strive for.

    good luck

  • When we were shooting a lot we were getting that and a little bit better. We were loading our own and chronographing the rounds to tighten things up.

  • my god that leupold looks expensive! im 14 and i have a remington 700 .223 and i want a leupold 4-14 target. im begging my parents for one!

  • lol im 14 to with a remington 700 and alot fo other guns and i would like a leupold to lol they are nice, i have a zeiss right now

  • Hey thanks for the comments guys! I appreciate it.

The scope on Dave's rifle is a Leupold MK4 Tactical Illuminated Reticle 8.5 - 25 power 50mm tube. It's a really nice combination and a pretty smooth shooting rifle. He actually had it tuned by a gun smith in Ridgecrest, CA.

    Mine is a Ruger M77LE with a Leupold 6-20.

Kussoff1 - hope you enjoy your new rifle! Sounds like it is going to be a blast!

  • Thats a hell of a scope

  • Great rifle! I just ordered a Savage 12fv .308 with a 26"HB last night, and I cant wait for it to get in so I can shoot it! Your video is great, the back stop and the credits crack me up!!! Good shootin!

  • Beautiful. I just got one myself, what kinda glass you got on that?
