I couldn't find anyplaces in the UK called Bohemia, apart from addresses. I come from the IOW and I know there's not a place called Bohemia there- there's a cottage though. Meades probably sticks in a few fanciful or exaggerated in facts for his own amusment.
I agree with Pete. If he just paraded about like the barely animated corpses of Starky or Dimblebey (all be it saying something actually interesting) they would be a far less enjoyable programmes.
Hi Pixels. I think he's just playing a persona. No doubt he picked up the litter, bought a biscuit for the dog, and later humbled himself in some kareoke. He's a fan of surrealism, so tries to insert as many jarring moments as possible. (Though he may personally be a thoroughly unlikable chap as well, but then I doubt that the BBC would keep giving him money to do this if he really was so loathesome.)

This series of videos is great but Jonathan Meades is a jerk. His kicking dogs, dumping garbage on the ground, and a general air of smugness is distracting from the jewels of knowledge in this series.
It's such a shame that some people don't get it. The visual jokes and references enliven, entertain and add a unique richness to his delivery.
Eccentric individuals have always put the Great in Britain. God forbid we should all have to pander to the bland, normative sterility to which you appear habituated and comfortable with. Some of us find him entertaing as well as informative!
@kerednotsdib I so much agree with you! I randomly discovered him and his shows about a week ago. So far, been watching quite a few and thouroughly enjoy. Looks like he's really enoying himself in these shows.

If you lack a sense of humour, don't watch him.
