  • @scuzzbuzzproductions so you skipped emmy rossum Oo

  • Too bad the little envious queer script-reader had to add . . .

lovely rendition, regardless! 5 thumbs up, dear Carrie.

And the queer announcers need their own boyfriends anyway.

  • To me, her emotion always seems fake. And then I can't enjoy the song :(

  • I think she has a delicacy and sweetness in her voice which is appealing.. Everyone gives their own unique rendition....I liked this very much. Clearly Shirley Bassey is incredible but this has a poignancy on a gentler level which I found moving.

  • She jazzed it up too much :(

  • The song lacked emotion in many points. And for some reason, when hearing her I'm intensely reminded of a male transvestite mimicking a female voice.

  • @willthack13 I totally agree with you and the lack of emotions, she sounded like it was a burden. However the transvestite thingy was a bit mean.

  • Woooow... That was a total snooze fest... I hate her voice, sorry. Always have, always will.

  • @perryeps... I don't get all the mean-spirited quips, either. It all sounds personal, somewhat of an ax to grind. She sounds wonderful to me. But, hey, to each his own.

  • @rosi0304...i know what you mean by "sedate" and the song needed a "belter." But I like the direction of emotion she steer with this rendition. Too, I'm sure it was what she was feeling. Overall, enjoyable.

  • @scuzzbuzzproductions Barbara was only one of the greatest broadway stars who made the transition to movie musical stardom and beyond . she could sing this song in her sleep and probally win a tony and a grammy .

  • @unjaded2 Yeah she could sing it, but in my opinion I don't think Musical Theatre suits her that much.

    That's all I'm saying.

  • i love her voice.....you expect it to trail off into nothing when she hits high notes....but she doesn't stop. LOVELY!

  • Her voice is too sedate, this song needs a BELTER!

  • totally wrong for an alto voice. check out Barbara Streisand singing it.

  • she is reallllly actually lovely - her and David sang at my Parents wedding! - My sister used to be in one of the drama troups they ran for young people!

  • I don't usually like Carrie, but I thought this was quite good actually :)

  • Just Beautiful!!!!!!, I am shure all the judges in these posting cannot even breath to sing a note, I mean the ones who crucifies her.

  • OMG. How is she even famous? People actually pay her to teach them to sing?!! That's terrible. She is, at most, an average amateur singer.

  • @givemeafreak give the girl a break she was heavily prebnantand that heavily affects ones singing capabilities

  • don't like her singing this song

  • totally agree with

    scuzzbuzzproductions

    xx

  • To be honest I dont think Whitney, Christina, Mariah, Celine or Barbara would do this song justice.

It's more of a musical theatre piece than anything and I don't see many of them singing musical theatre well.

Maybe at a push Celine and Barbara.

  • @scuzzbuzzproductions but Barbra originated from musical theatre.. :)

  • @bonbonquest I know she's done Musical Theatre, but I personally don't think it's suits her.

  • @scuzzbuzzproductions u mean Barbra

  • @DudeSinger Same thing.

  • @scuzzbuzzproductions I think they would have shown a bit more emotion than Carrie Grant. All these women have powerful voices, when I heard Grant singing I felt like there was no effort. Giving her the benefit of the doubt maybe she is tired, I mean she is pregnant. I understand what you are getting at with the those women not being able to do it justice, but then who would? I desperately suggest listening to Shirley Bassesy What I did for love & see if Carrie gives this song justice.

  • @scuzzbuzzproductions I don't undrstand your comment as it pertains to Barbra. She was a major star on

Broadway before she was a recording or film star.

  • @barochial I know she was.

Maybe because I positioned her next to people who haven't had the experience that she has in that area.

However, people were commenting about Barbra and the others that I listed, and I was just stating my opinion, on how I don't think that they would do this song justice either.

Just because someone has had experience in a certain area, does not mean that they are going to do a job well, in every aspect of the area, which in my opinion, this song would not suit Barbra.

  • @scuzzbuzzproductions You know, I respect your opinion and your defense of it. I don't have to agree with it (of course). I saw the original touring company of A Chorus Line, and I always thought Barbra would do this song justice. (My opinion of - course.) ;)

  • @scuzzbuzzproductions What do you mean at a PUSH Barbra? Does Funny Girl ring no bells to you?!

  • @TescoShampoo It's my opinion that she wouldn't do this song justice.

Is that such a bad thing to say?

    No.

Just because she did Musical Theatre, does not mean I have to rate her as a Musical Theatre performer.

So she did Funny Girl, it doesn't mean I have to rate her.

I'm not saying she isn't talented.

She has a great voice, but my opinion is what it is, and I don't see a reason why it should be questioned.

  • Her voice is too old for this song.

To be honest I think she has an average voice.

    It's nothing special.

    X's

  • In Carrie's on words....'she isn't even good enough for the cruise ships'..........i know people that can blow her off the stage....

  • She has this Poiseidon Adventure come Towering Inferno cloudy voice that says....I wasn't there, but should have been.

  • I have never heard this song sung so easily and beautifullly ever in my life....I listen to this youtube version almost every week before I go to bed. Makes me feel all tingly inside...........

  • i think this is the best version

  • she did this well

  • dont think shes a good singer at all

  • and i thought carrie grant is a boy

  • there are many gorgeous and sexy drag queens. being called a drag queen is not an insult. I'd be proud.

  • oh wow....she manages to sing this like a slow, love ballad and completely void and negligent of the context, stripping all meaning of the song.

    Bad.

  • not a fan. this could have been really powerful.

  • she sings this as it should be, very sentimental

  • She sings well but I don't think she conveys the meaning of this song.

  • man she sounds like a hoarsed woman singing. yeah but she could sing, only she sounds like she needs more practice. or maybe its her being pregnant? well either way, she doesn't sound good in this vid. well maybe in other vids she's better.

  • why is she so made up? Holy crap, it's a good thing her "eyes are dry", otherwise there's be a puddle of foundation and eyeliner all over the stage!

  • .......not so much. she cant sing....sorry.

  • what the fuck do you know.?

  • um ok....relax dude!

  • how does she have the nerve to teach singing? She has 2 sounds: breathy and nasal. It's a travesty. On the plus side, she is in tune.

  • this was when she was pregnant.. yeah?

  • ehhh weell that was bad mary j blige is the only person that sings that song right

  • its not bad, but I was hopin Ruthie cudve sung it, I mean Ruthie sang it in her musical theatre debut show A Chorus Line anyway... wud be nice to see her sing it again!

  • Her voice doesn't suite musical theatre at all.
