Yes i got that fear and it has affected me the fear of unknown- of what if it works and I don't know what to do... as weird as it may sound. Thanks for sharing!
This is great Kari, thank you!! Fear of the unknown is so spot on; my fear is so unquantifiable and abstract that it's just an almost physical feeling that stops me and I can't put my finger on it, so I end up doing nothing because that makes me feel better?!? It's strange, but the more stuff I do to break it down the better. Thank you very much indeed. You look fantastic too!
Great post! Kind of reminded me of what I was reading recently in Brian Tracey's book Eat The Frog, where he says that the best way to go about eating our worst frog - i.e. to tackle our biggest challenges, & fears (such as fear of success) is to just do it, just getting started is often the biggest hurdle to jump & once we've got over that bit, the rest is often easier than we anticipated.
@forwardvision I am repeatedly amazed how getting started is the hardest part! It doesn't even seem possible. I notice it in everything I do--exercise, making videos, eating healthy, cleaning my house, helping my kids with homework, any kind of project! Once I start, it's as good as done. It SO good to be reminded of that. Thank you!
@karibaxter How much I can relate to your words! I to find that getting started sometimes just seems nigh-on impossible. But when I just put my "busy head" on (i.e. click myself into the "oh, to hell with this. I'm sick of seeing this job undone!" mindset) & just get on & do it, then it's like, "look out world, ain't nothing gonna stop me now!" :)
@forwardvision Won't it be fabulous when we just start every job with that mindset instead of letting it sit for 2 weeks first?!? Think of all the extra time we'll have that wasn't wasted thinking about the job. :)
Thanks for the comment. Failure is definitely more frightening! I thought fear of failure was my only problem, though and sometimes I think change of any kind makes me nervous. It's good to identify your fears and what motivates YOU to success so you can push on and find success! Good luck to you.
I can understand fear of success but I'm more afraid of failure.
For example if I were to write a screenplay that got picked up it would mean so much in my life would change D: and I would have a lot of responsibilities

But failure would still be worse
