a right doesnt impose an obligation on anyone else to provide that right, thats a privalege, if a right exists regardless of whatever, wouldnt food and water appear for you on a desert island, because those are a natural right? no, negative liberty is what should be recognised, ie the liberty to do whatever you want to do as long as you dont harm anyone else, you can proclaim it a right to have water, with the best of intentions, but funny how these always lead to bad things
@ImEuanAndIGotsSkeelz the government that has the power to give you everything, has the power to take it all away again, you really dont want to start relying on them.
What we really need to be considering is URBAN rights, how the privilege structure works in modern society.
Much has already been done on this subject, especially in the UK. We're now in reverse I believe, we've been reducing rights & privileges for the past 3 decades for the average citizen, although we've made good headway on rights and a culture of respect for ethnic minorities etc.
Human rights doesn't mean shit to me anymore. Governments around the world are slowly taking away our rights, this includes here in the western world. It's happening because we're letting it happen. Most people don't care about their rights. Quite frankly, those people don't deserve their rights. I hope that my country (Canada) falls under an authoritarian government because it won't be until then people will realize how valuable their rights are.
What every law-abiding citizen deserves world-wide - Human rights The right to life Freedom of expression Freedom from oppression Political and religious freedom To live in a democracy The right to protection The right to a safe home, food and water The right to a fair trial The right to an education (use it better than me) Simple! The question is how we go about protecting and enforcing human rights?
There is people who kill for fun... just like those three guys in Ukraine who killed 21 people with hammer & screwdriver (in 2007) and filmed those murders. Before that they killed cats for practise... all their victims were people who could not defend themselfs.
@MokomaSusi: It's a difficult question, what to do with people who commit such heinous and unforgivable crimes against others. I'm tempted to say "shoot them and let them rot", but perhaps a better way to deal with these men is to wrap them up in straitjackets and lock them in prison for good. They're obviously sick, and will likely never get 'better', but does that justify killing them too? Hmm.
economic rights are not human rights, because they mean that someone has to be robbed, in order for them to have them. I all for compassion, but not government enforced 'redistribution' as a populist ploy to power.
human rights are the rights that we can agree on, like 'you(or your bro) don't kill me(or my bro), I (or my bro)won't kill you(or your bro).'
What do human rights mean? Human rights are somewhat overrated. Most people aren't really significantly different than the animals we oppress and consume. If anything, humans are worse and perhaps deserving of less rights. What do human rights mean to me? In my somewhat nihilistic mood, they mean whatever one wants them to mean, your rights are whatever those you recognize as authorities decide. Somehow they mean nothing and they mean everything. Humans have the right to suffer some of the same
Its amazing how many people get humans rights mixed up with liberty & basic needs to me and i am from greater manchester it means Not allowing whole communities or even nations to act out acts of genicide like in WACO & soon Congo basicly biblicly speaking human rights means that every man woman child and even the animals all have the right to live life without the threat of being killed of by a brutal ragime that sort of senario
Glad I found this! I really like your video :)

"somewhat overated"- underated by the likes of you while others suffer you claim their needs are overated. You've made me feel a little sick.
