In August I moved seven hours north of my former home for college, and as a result broke up with my girlfriend of two years.
I'm in a new relationship now, and she's doing her thing and following her dreams.

This song reminds me of the searing pain I've felt since my girlfriend left me. I always thought we'd be together till the day we died and I can't bear the thought of her not being in my life any more. When she walked away from me I thrust a cd with this song on it into her hand with a note attached saying "listen". The next time I saw her she called me a stupid boring cunt and stabbed me in the face.

A few years ago I left a relationship that I thought I was unhappy in. When I moved out and unpacked my stuff in my new place I found a CD in a box with "LISTEN" written on it, and it contained only this song. My pride wouldn't let me ask to come back, as his pride wouldn't let him ask me to stay. I hear he's married and happy now. I am neither. This song still makes me cry, from the opening notes. I absolutely love Snow Patrol. Most other people I know who are my age only listen to 'newer' stuff, and I only recently remembered how much I loved Snow Patrol because my mom constantly has their CDs playing (how sad of me, hahaha) I guess what I'm trying to say is that while other people say there's a Taylor Swift song for everything, or Adele, I can't relate, 'cause it's always gonna be Snow Patrol that has a place in my heart and gets me through everything.
