  • How long did WPLG had the "Multi colored 10" logo?

  • but with different variations

  • love that early "mirror' graphic at the beginning..looks more 70s than 80s..well, this was the early 80s after all..

  • Wow.. The logo hasn't changed much

  • I guess this was also the beginning of the sunset colors in the 10 logo

  • Yes, this was the debut.

  • Wow! I used to work with Mike Schneider many years and he was a great newsman and friend. Great find, indeed. I still have my vintage WPLG 10 mic flag from back in the days. A little beat up, but rare!

  • I grew up in S. Fla & Ann Bishop was probably my mom's favorite anchor. Channel 10 5-6PM newscasts were virtually a fixture in our house for years because of her.

  • This was a big day for WPLG. In addition to a new anchor, the newscast also got a new name ("Newswatch 10" became "Eyewitness News") and a new set.

Ralph Renick was still number one, but Channel 10 was gaining.

  • This is from Monday, August 23, 1982.

  • Mike Schneider would greater success at ABC, NBC, & Bloomberg Television. He also ran for congress in northern New Jersey in 1998, but lost.

  • I love that driving theme.

  • The TuesdayC theme is a classic. I also am a big fan of the voiceover announcer, an unknown who was the voice of Post-Newsweek stations in the 1980's.

  • I lived in New Orleans 1979/80... they used this theme on WVUE/Newscene 8 when it was an ABC station... long before going to Fox in order to broadcast the NFL.
