Hasn't Wii64 improved a TON since this showcase? I mean, in the video, Mario 64 is slow... but it doesn't break a sweat in the current version, and the GUI is a ton better than what I saw here.

thanks to the latest update, the wii n64 emulator is almost flawless now, the homebrew games are cool too!

@reservoirdog1 that is so untrue...Wii64 has so much trouble playing any Rare game... Banjo Tooie stops after 2 minutes of playing it, Goleneye is just a bitch when it comes to sound AND graphics, Conker's Bad Fur Day doesn't load.......so many more...

i feel as though if it wasnt for people who pirate games, getting homebrew to work on a console would be a hell of alot easier. hell, maybe they would give you the option of running homebrew in official firmware.

@jumpinkittyisnthappy They wouldn't. Nintendo's first attempts at "protecting" a console (the NES lockout chip) was aimed at unlicensed games, not so much at piracy. Console makers get money from software licenses. They don't want ANY unlicensed software running on their systems, pirated or otherwise.

homebrew extends the life of EVERY console and handheld ^^ i started increasing my consoles' quality with the xbox, then the ps2 (which was kind of fail because the community was a bit boring), then the psp (hell yeah that was fun!), the NDS and now the wii which tops all. when i buy a new console, the first thing i do is hacking it :D

@TheGag96 The Wii does have better hardware than the N64. It's a compatibility issue because of the difference in hardware. Getting N64 games to work with the Wii's hardware accelerated graphics is difficult. This is an issue that every emulator has to deal with.
