Haifa is about 90% Jewish and if you go to the Arab part it is run down and poor. Arabs are forced to do all the dirty jobs. People keep saying Haifa is a wonderful example of a mixed city, I am not so sure though. I have double checked my facts about Haifa and it has an Arab population of just 9% (at least according to the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics). I think some Russian Israelis there are Christians. It use to have a large majority of Arabs until 1948 when they were expelled. So why don't Israelis vote for more peaceful candidates but they seam to vote for warmongers like Sharon or Barak. Palestinians value education. It's rather evidence with the fact that about 90% of Jordanians are literate. In Israel, they are under occupation, in Jordan they are not. Palestinians and Israelis have a similar devotion to education and learning. You can't generalize everyone who speaks the same language just like someone from Argentina is not generally like someone from northern Mexico. This is a nice video.

The Israeli contains 120 seats, and always has. There is no, and has never been any quota on how many seats any group is permitted to hold. The number of Arabs elected the current Knesset is similar to what it has been over the past elected electoral cycles. Israeli Arabs are given the same opportunity to vote and stand for office as all other citizens. You comment is blatant lie. Actually , during last elections , Balad and Ta`al Arab parties were BANNED by Israeli central election committee. So the reason behind the drop in number of Arab Israeli seats in Knesset , is not a coincidence. What you fail to mention is that the Israeli Supreme court overturned that decision and Balad and Ta'al are both represented in the current Knesset. The ONLY party to ever be successfully banned from the Knesset was Kach, a far right wing party with wanted to expel the Arabs from Israel. The attempted ban was not motivated by racism, but by the fact that the Balad and Ta'al MKs repeatedly broke Israeli law by visiting countries formally at war with Israel and inciting hatred against Jews.

Nevertheless ,3 seats out of 120 were granted to represent almost 20 % of Israeli population ( Arabs). Disproportional. At least the ban lift clearly showed, for all the nasty and loud allegations made against Balad and Ta al members to be false.!Justice always prevails.

Actually the Arab Parties (Ta'al, Balad, and Hadash) hold 11 seats between them in the current Knesset.
The reason they didn't get 20-25 is because many Israeli Arabs choose not to vote as a form of protest against Israel, and some also choose to vote for other left wing parties like Meretz and Labour.
Israeli Arabs had the chance to give the Arab parties more seats, it's not Israel's fault they chose not to use it.

In a democracy seats aren't reserved in the parliament, so Arabs don't have reserved seats in the Israeli parliament but are voted in.
As for Palestinian, in 1947 they refused to accept UN proposal for two states solution but the Palestinian refused.
Peace will come to the region when Arabs in the region (including Palestinians) abandon radical Islam and embrace moderated Islam (like Jordan).

Dear, here in Canada we don`t accept states that practice apartheid and kill children like bugs. See during our rallies in support of Palestine, many Jews gather with slogans : " Not in our name" , " Stop the shameful occuaption " etc. This is Canada, people united against oppression. Israel went too far with Cast Lead, as people worldwide refuse to accept any longer Israeli crimes and the manner in which it places itself above all laws.

Israelis can't exactly see in an objective way the policies executed by the various prime ministers over the decades and the strategies of generals, and how settlements affect the other side. They are disconnected from what's happening. Racism is definitely a serious problem in every country, but in Israel is definitely going away from being PC, to openly racist. Some think that another identity must be weakened so the other one will be stronger. It's backward.
