  • @ohm4g3 actually I'm 30 :) just doing an impression of a 'whipper snapper', guess i nailed it! thank you for agreeing with me tho. Have a nice day & Long live people who agree with me!

  • i remember climbing a mountain outside bruma and looking at the scenary, thinking these are the best graphics i have ever scene in 2006.

  • They should of just put oblivion's soundtrack in skyrim. :D

  • Skyrim is dull, gloomy, lifeless, grey & most importantly depressing. With uninteresting & forgettable characters. While trying to capture realism in the game, Bethesda forgot about the fantasy element. & in the words of a 13yr old fan boy " Skyrim=Epic Fail. Oblivion ftw!"

  • @drmanhattan63 i am a 23 year old and i have to agree with you there young whipper snapper

  • There was something mystical about oblivion, the characters were vibrant & colourful (& sometimes funny). But more than that...it was light-hearted, a place to go to forget about everyday worries. Tamriel welcomed me with open arms, & I am eternally great-full.

  • Oblivion made all my problems go away, for a while, it was so good to feel like that while listening to musics like this and walking in the forest, traveling to distant places and being stoped by thieves in the road. Its amazing what a game can do. I thought that skyrim was gonna feel the same way, but it didnt.

  • The first music you hear when you leave the prison sewers if I'm not mistaken!

  • I love the Oblivion soundtrack! Skyrim's is just too overrated!!

  • Simply the Best!!!!!

  • I get goosebumps listening to this... reminds me when im on my horse going through the west weald.

  • 7 people ...are fucked in the head

  • Oblivion is way better than Skyrim, can't explain why lol... its just that feeling

  • Wow, brings back the good old days.. occasionally, I blow the dust off the CD case and get that beast out :)

  • There's too much nostalgia in this motherfucker.....I love it :)

  • God, the first 25 seconds of this are the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.

    My favorite game ever made.

  • Need to have these implemented in Skyrim, giving us the soundtrack from both the games.

  • @IntuitionJo and TES1

  • Get your Black Horse Courier here!

  • somebody come out iwth a mod to play the oblivion soundtrack over skyrim

  • Just chiming in: I started playing TES with Skyrim, and I am so interested in the mythos and everything that I decided to buy Morrowind. Not all popularity is bad, folks.

  • @IntuitionJo TES II has been released on the web as free by Bethesda as a gift.

    Daggerfell

  • While i suppose its true alot more people who aren't what you could call true elder scrolls fans are playing Skyrim this is a good thing. It means more people are seeing how amazing the Elder scrolls series is and with more people playing it and buying them Bethesda will have more money to improve the next installment. Although it does annoy me when my friends tell me all this stuff and I'm there thinking: "Yes, yes i know this already, this wasn't my first elder scrolls you know...."

  • thanks guys! its true oblivion had an element skyrim never had, and thats my first top comment btw :)

  • I loved this song the most when I casually explored the forest. Then the rush of the fight music when I encountered danger. Bethesda knows how to set an amazing atmosphere.

  • put your headphones on, close your eyes and picture simpler times

  • Wich Aedra was Kynareth?

  • @RadiusHelayn Patron of sailors and travelers she is the aedra of the winds, the elements, and the unseen spirits of the air.

  • @RadiusHelayn Lady of the Wind. Known as Kyne by the Nords, the widow of Shor.

  • i miss when us elder scrolls players were our own little group, i still love skyrim tho

  • @hectorpops Back in the days of Daggerfall, then. Morrowind was already an incredibly huge success.

  • @hectorpops no shit, all good things go mainstream eventually though and then the trolls start hiding under the bridge, coming out only to spoil your day then scurry off

  • @hectorpops I strongly agree with you, it seems the new TES audience has no sight of what a Elder Scrolls game is all about. Ive literally heard people compare TESV to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

  • @hectorpops I used to be part of the old group of Oblivion but then I took an arrow to the knee. xDD

Internet jokes off, I have spent hours talking with strangers about the Dark Brotherhood and about characters and missions... so yeah I know what you are talking about...

  • @hectorpops

    Never were after Oblivion.

  • @hectorpops Yeah, me too. I was the ONLY person who knew about Skyrim before it came out in my group of friends.

Now it's out and has been turned into some fuckin' pop-culture, meme shit.

    ...I feel like a Hipster.

    *Starts loading shotgun.*

  • @TxtACRowetxT Sigh I agree. I wouldn't really say I feel like a hipster but I remember when the Elder Scrolls community was really small. There was no stupid memes, there was no one saying "OMG SKYRIM IS DA BEST GAME EVER XD LOL. IT'S SOOO ADDICTING XDDDD. GOOD BYE SOCIAL LIFE XD!!" and there was no stupid pop culture garbage. The Elder Scrolls' community really has gone downhill. It's eventually going to become the Call of Duty of RPGs.

  • @sabers2th Being honest, I don't give a shit about the community. The game rocks so I enjoy it. In addition... the more customers, the merrier, so Bethesda Game Studios have more money and can make a even more glorious game. If Oblivion hadn't been available for consoles, the staff working on Skyrim would be probably smaller.

And, as I have said, TES' community could be considered small in the times of Daggerfall. Morrowind was already a great success.

  • @ElGuerrerodeHielo High Rock would still be great :D

  • @sabers2th that'l take YEARS for fanboys to turn TES into CoD. hopefully never.

  • @302viewisyou That's true. But, in terms of popularity Elder Scrolls is pretty much taking the same exact route as Call of Duty (it terms of popularity). Call of Duty was hardly popular until the fourth game was released and the popularity of Call of Duty skyrocketed then once sixth game was released (the 5th CoD game is just a spin off of the 4th one) the game got EVEN more popular and that's where (in my opinion) CoD went down hill.

  • @sabers2th true... people only play CoD for the multiplayer, the main story means nothing anymore..... i just pray to talos (lol) that TES never becomes like CoD

  • @hectorpops I know, used to get a lot of "never heard of that" or "sounds gay", im like WTF no way it owns!

  • @hectorpops Yeah now the commuity is going to shits

I loved the oblivion and morrowind modding commuity always full of good ideas and great people

  • @hectorpops Oh so seconded...

"Our arrows will black out the sun!"

"Then we'll hold our knees in the shade!"

  • @hectorpops I hate when people claim to be fans of Elder Scrolls when they don't know shit about the lore. Ask them about Kynareth, and they'll go, "whaaaa?"

  • @hectorpops I agree

  • I gotta say Oblivion soundtracks are superior to skyrims :P

  • @MiniBowser41 You clearly haven't heard "From Past to Present."

  • @MiniBowser41 Not superior, just different. Skyrim's a bit viking-ish. But gotta love both the games!

  • @MiniBowser41 In a peaceful kind of way yeah, but I like the fast paced battle music for skyrim better. With Oblivion it just isn't all that noticeable, let alone thrilling.

  • @MiniBowser41 i think its just nostalgia like i always said that but now when i listen to some skyrim soundtracks i think they are just as good as Oblivion

  • @MiniBowser41 Dumbest comment ever

  • @wiseguy1989xx agree you have the dumbest comment.

  • @MiniBowser41 i think tey do well with setting the mood in skyrim, but tunes not as catchy. i noticed that the liking for oblivions musc came after skyrim came out and i uninstalled oblivion to make space. Try uninstall skyrim when the next one comes out, i bet u will be wanting to hear explore 3 again and again :D

  • Yeah i see what you mean.

  • Love listening to these with rainymood(.)com in the background! :D

  • QUICK WATCH OUT FOR THE ENEMY APPROACHING.... FUUUUCK ITS A MUD CRAB RUUUUUUN

  • this is so fucking epic

  • Stop...right...there... criminal scum...(sheds tear).

  • I do love how, when Oblivion came out, Morrowind's fanboys, because of nostalgia, complained about every single aspect. And now, with Skyrim, Oblivion's fanboys do the same.

    *sigh*

  • @ElGuerrerodeHielo dealwithit.gif

  • @ElGuerrerodeHielo I know.... It annoys the hell outta me. Honestly I think they just miss the previouse chapter to much like me..

  • @izzboxer1996 I miss it as well, in some ways. But that's why I have the older games: if one day I feel like playing Oblivion over Skyrim, I can do it. No need to say Skyrim is a bad game.

  • @ElGuerrerodeHielo Your exacly right, its not the game not being good enough, its about the memories of the previous game.

  • @MrGoatPolice Hmmm... well, I don't really know if that is sarcasm, it is difficult to detect on the internet. But if it is not, I agree with you. xD

  • @ElGuerrerodeHielo No i didnt mean to sound sarcastic at all, i mean it genuinely, because personally i dont know if ill enjoy Skyrim as much as Oblivion.

  • @MrGoatPolice Hehe, ok, I was not sure.

Skyrim is a very good game, if you ask me. And so is Oblivion. They are... different in some ways. I actually prefer Skyrim, but I can see why other people like Oblivion or Morrowind the most. Which I can't understand is why someone would say that any of the others TES are bad. Morrowind's fanboys normally say that Oblivion and Skyrim are "dumbed down" for the casual player. They must have forgotten that TES became widely famous...

  • @MrGoatPolice ... with Morrowind (damn, it was even GOTY) and that the biggest streamlining-leap was between Daggerfall and Morrowind.

  • So many beautiful memories this brings back...Gahh where's my Oblivion case?

  • This is my favorite piece from Oblivion, and my favorite from Skyrim is currently called "Explore Night 2" lol. I am looking forward to getting the official soundtrack.

  • I remember stumbling upon this specific piece on YouTube before I ever even touched an Elder Scrolls game. The moment I heard this, I went out and bought Oblivion - best game I ever played until I played Skyrim. This piece started me on my favorite game series ever haha. Thanks Jeremy Soule.

  • Is their like a mod to organize save files?

(dont want one save overiding another by accident)

  • Comment removed

  • @hectorpops Totally agree . Lizards talking about animal genitals is far better than random guard chat

  • If some people don't like the Skyrim soundtrack, you could always upload this instead provided you have the Oblivion soundtrack over the current game you are playing...

  • the music in oblivion gave me a better feeling of adventure compared to skyrim. also i loved cryodiil more

  • this track should of been in oblivion

  • @ciankeaneable uh...it was.

  • @Malikarcanum my bad i meant to say skyrim!

  • @ciankeaneable I think you mean skyrim

  • @Daxter1404 yeah i know im actually retarded :(

  • This is epic! Just the way this moves the soul!

  • @fierceeagle2003 quick! use a soulstone!

  • Reminds me of repeatedly knocking out jauffrey for the fun of it...

  • @magmaroo stop right there criminal scum

  • @45thedragonheart haha omg the memories

  • They should make Wings of Kynareth available as free DLC for Skyrim and incorporate it into the soundtrack!!

  • I miss the music from oblivion :( skyrims sucks, no offence

  • @YourichiCat i want valenwood, i dont like snow...

  • @Sxxxysquirtle yeah me too...I think the land skyrim is awesome, but the quests, the people, the mood... Skyrims mainquest is so fucking short! D: finished it in one second

  • @YourichiCat The thing is you can still go back and play Oblivion like I'm doing now. In my opinion Skyrim is a better game, it improved on so many things from oblivion and the game mechanics and everything are just so much better. But what it doesn't have is that oblivion charm. Oblivion has a certain charm to it that makes it simply unforgettable compared to Skyrim. That's why I like Oblivion better.

  • @YourichiCat

Skyrim's music is solid enough. I mean it's still Jeremy Soule composing. It's good music just nothing outstanding like Wings of Kynareth and I find the shouty, Nord choir version of the Morrowind theme kind of goofy. It shows up every time I fight a dragon.

  • I used to be an adventurer like you then i took an arrow to the... Aw heck who cares! Go Oblivion!

  • Jeremy Soule FTW

  • Listenin' to this while playing Skyrim :3

  • To the people hating on Skyrim, don't you remember when Oblivion first came out? Everyone complained so much about how much "worse" it was than Morrowind. In my opinion, they're all great. They're just all different. So if you want giant volcanoes on islands, go play Morrowind; if you want Oblivion gates in temperate forest, play Oblivion; and if you want dragons in snowy mountains, play Skyrim.

I don't think Arena or Daggerfall's settings counts much, you can't see it all that well!

  • @alynnidalar The only things I am annoyed with Skyrim are the guilds.

  • @alynnidalar Exactly, they're different, and some people are dangerously allergic to change. Pretty annoying.

  • @alynnidalar sounds like you just gave Bethsheda an idea for thier next game. Arena and Daggerfall realized as modern 3d adventures. Oh, and you know how they did a 10 year anniversary with the first Halo? I think they should do that with Morrowind. For the most part, same story, but redo the controls so you can dual wield swords and spells, or you can shoot arrows and spells at the same time like oblivion or skyrim. And with more cutscenes, fatalities, voice acting, perks, a few expansions...

  • @ACEnBEAKY Except considering what they did with Skyrim, they will probably butcher Morrowind until it's shit and claim they "streamlined the experience". No, a Morrowind anniversary addition would not be a good idea unless they improved the graphics and animation and nothing else.

  • @SBmasta441 My Morrowind's fanboy sense is tingling!!!!!!

  • @ACEnBEAKY I have other crazy idea. Leave Morrowind in Morrowind and make a new game in a new province. Yeah, I know, I'm a visionary.

  • @ElGuerrerodeHielo hmmm. Whatever. On a side note.... From the books you "read" in skyrim, I wonder if they are dropping a hint that the next one might be the argonians in black marsh. Be nice to visit swamps and have a lot of swimming or traveling by worm(?)...Also would be nice if they brought back/incorporated pole arms, crossbows and thrown weapons in this one.

Also, wouldn't if the next one was in the Khajiit homeworld. Play as cats in dusty badlands, deserts, and tropical rainforests.

  • @ACEnBEAKY Hmmm... I don't think they give any clues. I mean, they didn't know that they were going to make Skyrim til years after Oblvion. I also think that Black Marsh should be left for one of the last (as Valenwood, and maybe Elsweyr, as in Elsweyr they would need to make a ton of races), because of how complicated it can be to make the provinces. I would also like to see crossbows and thrown weapoms back, asd pole arms as long as they were overhauled (they were kinda flawed, in...

  • @ACEnBEAKY ... Morrowind).

I would really like to see Summerset Isles the next. Because as I have said I think that, for being in all their glory, Elsweyr, Valenwood and Black Marsh need more advanced technology... and because Hammerfell, while cool, is homeland of humans, and I had enough humans with Oblivion and Skyrim.

  • @ElGuerrerodeHielo Summerset Isles may be the expansion.

I mean, it is roughly the size of the Shivering Isles (from what I've seen on maps etc), and it would make sense with all of the Thalmor controversies happening in Skyrim.

  • @TxtACRowetxT Well, take into account that they always change the scale of the provinces. Skyrim in the map is half the size of Cyrodiil, while in-game they are more or less the same.

For the expansion... well, Todd Howard said that he would like to see some places of High Rock redone, so maybe that's going to be the expansion.

  • @ACEnBEAKY In Morrowind: Bloodmoon, they had a fortuneteller that would either tell you your future within the Bloodmoon prophecy (if you hadn't completed it yet), or if you had completed it, he would give a semi-cryptic vision of Oblivion's events and how you must "close shut the jaws of Oblivion." Oblivion dropped a small hint about a prophecy in Weynon Priory. It was a book and the last line of the prophecy was about Alduin and the Dragonborn.

  • @Britain171 That is incorrect on the first part, it was actually in the expansion Tribunal that a Dunmer prophet wearing white robes told about Daedra spilling unto the land.

  • @alynnidalar its not skyrim per se that everyone is hating on, its the trolls that came with it that everyone dislikes. skyrims just easier to hate then some anonymous fuck

  • I remember when morrowind came and people were like Aww this game sucks Daggerfall was much better, the same thing happened with Oblivion and is happening now with Skyrim. IMO they are all great games and shouldn't be really compared to each other.

But this is the best song in the whole series :P , or reign of septims, i like epic music

  • @Pulsunaattori Sadly, that's what happens with every gaming franchise. It's horrible going on a gaming forum and seeing all of the same complaints year after year. XP Hopefully people will grow up eventually, eh? Nah, I'm dreaming. :'(

  • @Pulsunaattori I kind of get the idea with games that are an ongoing series, each new installment is an experiment on a different way of doing the same thing, as opposed to an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" continuation. I like that actually. It's a good idea but extrememly risky. The Kingdom Hearts series has done that lately. They made the first two a lot alike, then they made a bunch of prologue/epilogue stuff on psp/DS differently, almost like they were trying to find best method for 3.

  • Wished skyrim had a better soundtrack it just wasnt the same

  • It's been a month since Skyrim came out and I think most of us can agree by now that Oblivion is both a better game for its time and a better game even today. Skyrim lost the charm of Oblivion.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah oblivion's is better. Skyrim just has that really good piece with the violin.

  • the music is so much memorable and if feel like skyrim has less music tracks

  • POWDERED DEER PENIS! > I USED TO BE AN ADVENTURER LIKE YOU.... THAN I TOOK AN ARROW TO THE KNEE

  • Kinda wish skyrim had oblivion soundtrack

  • Comment removed

  • Único, mítico.

  • Long live Kyne and the 9 Divines... or is it 8 now.

    Skyrim and Oblivion FTW

  • Oblivion, best game ever.

  • This reminds me when I was a poart of the Dark Brotherhood and I'd sit atop the houses in Bruma killing beggars off with my Shadow Hunt. ;)

  • oblivion songs are absolutely wonderful!

  • And to think that when Oblivion came out, I had nostalgia for Morrowind (and I still do BTW) and found Oblivion the most awesome Elder Scrolls game so far... now that Skyrim came out, is like Skyrim turned into Oblivion that turned into Morrowind... now I have nostalgia for Oblivion and find Skyrim the most awesome Elder Scrolls game so far. Still, playing Oblivion reminds me of good times... :')

  • imo u cant compare skyrim music to oblivion they are different styles but this is my fav track of all tes games

  • @carnifex2311 You obviously haven't heard the Morrowind main theme.

  • oblivion has nice music, but Skyrim truly has the best in any game i have ever seen.

  • I think Oblivion have better soundtrack than Skyrim. I loved to listen this amazing sounds while i were taveling through Cyrodil. At skyrim one thing i hear are this unendable shouts without soul/ peacefull melodies:).

  • Oblivion has the best music for a video game, whoever composed it is a legend its a masterpiece it truly is

  • @smuggles908 Jeremy Soule composed it

  • While skyrim has improved graphics and gameplay, i'll always come back to oblivion for this one song -u-

  • PochemuPochemu: They did, it's called Arena. Mostly randomized, though.

  • skyrim

  • the music in oblivion is way better than skyrim !!!

  • @lefthandovRA you just prefer the green setting, and the tudor inspired, high class medieval feeling of twilight perfection, the glimmering of a clear sky's moon on an open lake, and the way the music goes with that. Personally I prefer jeremy's work on games with snow in them. Icewind Dale, and Skyrim. Let Skyrim grow on you, maybe youll like it. I didn't notice how much i loved oblivion's until i stopped playing and heard this one here on youtube.

  • @lefthandovRA Yeah, you're right!!

  • @lefthandovRA I am in absolute agreement so far.

  • @lefthandovRA Yes, but Skyrim is probably over all better.

  • @lefthandovRA No, it's not "way" better at all. Some of Skyrim's music is just incredible. This music is just nostalgic for all of us, I'm sure the same thing will be said about Skyrim's soundtrack when TES VI is released.

I really don't prefer one soundtrack over the other.

  • @lefthandovRA agreed 100%, and disagreed with people saying it's just because of the nostalgia factor, the music is just better and more memorable

  • @lefthandovRA Sad to hear :( Music is so important for the atmosphere

  • @lefthandovRA in Skyrim just the trailer music is music.....the rest is...hm..shit?^^

  • @Vlavir NO! It's nice. But here...it is marvelous

  • @lefthandovRA

... and yet Skyrim is a better game. Funny thing that.

  • @MerlinAmbrosius17

both of you are forgetting that the term "better" is no more than a personal notion.

  • @NormbrettaMod

Yes but apart from those things in life that we can all agree are objectively true (scientific facts for example) everything is subjective. "Better" is a qualitative word and subject to personal opinion. I would argue that our personal notions are very important to us as individual beings. I don't view my subjective feelings on things as trivial.

  • @MerlinAmbrosius17

they're not trivial, but a certain amount of objectivity or open-mindedness rather, is needed for tribal beings like us in order to function in life. you know, despite your personal emotions that Skyrim is not a "better" game because that is a notion from the head and exists nowhere else but in your head (and those that agree with you). what you said was an opinion, to say e.g. Skyrim has a more realistic fighting system would be a fact that no one could argue with.

  • @NormbrettaMod

I completely acknowledge the need for objectivity and I definitely touched upon that issue in the post you are responding to. I think a certain amount of reality is and needs to be consensual for us to function, no arguments there. BTW, I did say that Skyrim is a BETTER game than Oblivion just that Oblivion has more memorable music. Agreed the fighting system is better. The menu system is also a pleasure to use, much more intuitive than in Oblivion. CONT'D...

  • @MerlinAmbrosius17

I think Oblivion is a good game rather than a great game. Bethesda has yet to let me down. Fallout 3 was cool. Fallout: New Vegas improved upon that coolness in just about every possible way: better weapons, better perks, better plot, even slightly better graphics (not that FO3's graphics were ever bad; I was stunned the first time I stepped out of the Vault into the DC Wasteland). I cannot wait for Fallout 4! With the new Skyrim engine it will rock!!!!!!!

  • @MerlinAmbrosius17

Bethesda's games are the only games I play nower days and dare i say it the only games i think i'll ever be playing again (except for future GTA games for the sake of the collection). there's no other game i've ever had so much freedom in and been able to combine my own imagination with somebody elses in such a way...and fallout has got to be one of the most iconic games out there. this argument is pointless now since i've found you're actually a very...continued...

  • @lefthandovRA Yes sir-e.

  • @lefthandovRA its debatable because i actually really like the skyrim music

  • @lefthandovRA 100 thumps up for that one mate;)

  • @lefthandovRA Depends. Skyrim's soundtrack's a lot more ambient, & not as theme based as Oblivion's, but when it does have big thematic pieces, like Ancient Stones or Sovngarde Chant, it's right up there with the best of Oblivion, like this one.

  • i remember being a vampire for the longest time in this game, and then finally i found the cure, i stepped outside in daylight for the first time in a long time, and left the camera to spin around, showing my character's face looking all normal again, and this song came on. it was just too amazing for words.
