@pickachukabalooie I have both and find them equally useful. All the gestures are a blessing on Lion in general, although the speed and accuracy of the Magic Mouse is amazing for long hours of video, photo, etc. editing. Both worthwhile purchases in my opinion.

@OcanalBP I've been using the 2011 Mac mini ($799) and it's been great. Obviously extremely heavy processes and four-five filters on a single shot will take a bit of time, but it handles HD quite nicely.

I'm happy with my magic mouse. i usually just lay my whole hand on it and its light so you won't have to drag it around with fingers on the side of it. but its not a gaming mouse at least not mine because if you're playing shooting games, you can't press rmb and lmb at the same time. so you can't aim and shoot : -/ but as a normal mouse it awesome :D

I like this mouse, but honestly, the trackpad on the macbook pro is such a pleasure to use that I find most external mice lacking when compared to it. I switched from a dell to a macbook pro a couple of days ago and to my surprise, my favorite feature so far is the touch gestures. makes simple things so fun.

Im a designer and i think this mouse will drive me nuts.

Maybe for a regular mac user it would be a nice mouse, but since i cant really rest my fingers/palms i will pass on this one. One more thing, sometimes i get sweaty fingers so scrolling will get a bit difficult i even experienced this with the trackpad.

@spacecy I seriously cannot find any pros for this mouse. Horrible job. IMO this mouse is a classic case of "Design over comfort". Personally, when I'm shopping for a mouse the things I look for in the order of importance is 1) Comfort 2) Functionality 3) Price 4) Design. To me, Apple failed on all others but design. For me even the functionality of this mouse is lacking. That is why I fell in love with the MX Revolution and after that the Performance MX mice.

dude.. since the top of the mouse is all a touch/surface button it is expected that there would be a gap between the fingers and the mouse... else you would have difficulty using the surface... you cannot compare those gaming mouses with the apple mouse. you compare those with a similar in the same category. the apple mouse is in a different category of which is designed for something else

@NPCorphan Probably a gaming mouse. This mouse is more for design, takes awhile to get use to, and is more for general use. I mean, you wont be using multi-gestures for games, and it isn't comfortable. If you are going to be playing minecraft, I wouldn't really buy a gaming mouse, but just a regular mouse

Apparently sometimes the mouse get's confused, when you right-click, and still rest your index finger on the left side of the mouse - even though it only barely touches the surface - enough for the mm to occasionally misinterpret the action - according to Apple's support.

@iHusker402 Yep, the Magic Mouse is good for Minecraft. It is a pain in the ass to get used to right click and left click, but once you're used to it, it's perfect for minecraft. I use mine for minecraft, and i love it. Again, though, pain in the ass to get used to for minecraft. Also, scroll wheel for item selection don't work. Even a small scroll will send the item selection flying. It sucks, but you get used to using 1-9 buttons. It's great, but a normal mouse would be better.

IMO that mouse is utterly crappy, horrible ergonomics (my hand will hurt after 30 mins of use) lack of functionality, swipes seem like a nice function but actually using them is very very hard as the mouse slides away. My personal suggestion is to go with Logitech Performance MX. I love that mouse. Plenty of programmable buttons. For gaming maybe the G700?

Nice review. I was looking around to see what different people say about this mouse. I used it myself and yes, my biggest problem with it falls in line with what just about everyone says "It feels a bit awkward in your hand"

Basically what to get from this is:

For Gaming: it's going to suck ( because of how it doesn't fit in your hand comfortably )

Like Logitech's mouses do.

For General Use: Browsing, E-mail, etc. it's excellent and worth getting.

all this futuristic stuff I have in my Acer laptop, with multi-gesture, I'm thinking of moving to next and previous page and scrolling. Whilst the mouse from Genius (Navigator 905BT) has better performance: the batteries are working about two months while in the Apple proprietary mouse only 1 month! Navigator has a useful feature called "flying scroll" which has the same effect, and is more ergonomic. So paying $ 69 for this mouse is in my opinion foolish.
