buddy i would agree with you on the fact that REAL Taekwondo is a real fighting style but the ones you see in the olympics is not a fighting style. it is a sport. I have studied PaSaRyu TKD and i am in KiShinTaiDo Karate which is a branch of Kyokushin Karate. one thing i would suggest in the sparring match and i know you will get mad at me for saying, but please keep your hands up. it will protect you from getting kicked in the face. im not trying to put you down, just help.
to all of the dumbshits saying tkd is useless, you need to think before you speak...this is just the SPORT aspect....traditional TKD also uses hand strikes, joint locks, and throws (it's a martial art for a reason, and I highly doubt the most practiced martial art in the world would be useless)
@derderderr0o Really? I am pretty sure that TKD has the most practitioners but I am not 100% on that (if I am wrong...then damn you google), but I know for a fact that traditional TKD is very useful for self defense (actually with enough speed even the sport form is deadly when applied correctly). Anyway thanks for the info :)
Taikwondo is more of a younger martial art where Tai Chi is used for health reasons and lots of old people do it, and plus the most populated country in the world invented it so that kinda helps :P
@tmakidd0703 obviously you've never been kicked by a sport tkd practitioner! keep in mind its not just the art but the practitioner's dedication to his/her own desire to excel in it!
@SuperSoulweaver bro i am a 2nd dan in tkd and a brown in hkd. i sparr itf and wtf. so i know wht the hell i am talking about. i have been in around 20 tourneys and i have been always to the finals but there i lose. always have bad luck. but i know wht i am talking about. yes it hurts to get kicked but you getup and fight,
@tmakidd0703 Then I would suggest that you continue to train and increase your knowledge. because BRO I've earned my 4th dan in tkd and in tsd. and I to have been on the tourney circuit for many yrs. and yes i have fought both itf and wtf as well. but keep in mind your only a 2nd dan.
and let me know when you've competed in more than just 20 competitions!
@tmakidd0703 good keep up the good work. hopefully you'll one day make it to a master's lvl in either art. let me know when u get there i've been there eraning my 4th degree in both tkd and tsd. and yes competing in probably a bit more than just 20 tourneys. let me know how that works for ya.
@SuperSoulweaver hahahahaha ya i am a second dan and i am only 17 and i am hired as an instructor already hahahah so i think even tho you are 4th i have been ahead of you for a long time
Both fighters fight with both of their hands down. It's stupid.

the fight wasn't bad, but you should try to not going backward in line, you should try to go backward with "angle" to not get a pichagi(round kick)
