I knew when I read the comment he made about Family Circus not being a comic he would get in trouble over it, even though he didn't actually make a judgment value on it. It just doesn't fit his definition.
I have the limited edition Zot! black and white collection, the hardcover one signed by him with only 1000 made. And it may be my favorite book that I own.
he is seriously one of the best comic writters out there, I have no idea why zot #33 didnt win that harvey award it was up for
do you have" making comics"?do you think it would help on how to make my characters im having trouble communicating my poses, they are a little off i want to project one thing and it looks like another, like to stiff or it looks like my characters are looking in the wrong direction. do you know of anythiing that would help on this?
When I was kid this guy created Zot. A comic book that just blew my mind. He was a master of the silent pause to reflect the way the character was feeling or the way the moment was captured in time to allow the reader to appreciate the sadness, romance, action etc. Its easy to achieve on film but in a comic a comic book its kind of magic. You have to read Zot to know what I'm talking about. Thanks for the post. The artwork is brilliant for the book.
Just started flipping through Understanding Comics, Reinventing Comics and Making Comics, again -- and felt compelled to look Mr. McCloud up here on YouTube. This was a short and sweet little clip, I appreciate it.
I met him a few months ago at UND. He's one of the coolest people to talk to. He can talk forever about anything and still have something interesting to say.
Bar/Bat mitzvah would make sense. That is if you don't stick to christianity
