  • some sweet info here

  • Polska?

  • I found the music behind the voices to be very distracting, particularly when he's explaining the different parts of a mine.

  • minecraft

  • Abandoned Minds are Dangerous!

  • This video is a excellent presentation into the Dangerous of entering old mines. Most people with common sense will know not to enter a old mine, however it wont stop stupid people.

  • @123cbear

nobody can stop anybody from doing anything! so why oppress and control us. People like you are the reason the world isn't a free peaceful place. you just love to stir the pot of anger. When you people die I will find your grave and take a crap all over it, then wipe it into the grooves of headstone. then, to finish up I'll urinate on your offerings, grave gifts and on top of the rest of your grave.

  • Hey, can you tell us where all these "dangerous" mines are so we can stay away from them :-p

  • lol this is gay %100

  • After seeing this video...I'm goin mine exploring. I'm in.

  • Abandoned mines are dangerous. Also in in this episode of "confirm the obvious", shooting yourself in the head will kill you, hot stoves will burn, and dumbasses will continue to do dumbass things.

  • What happens when you die? Have you told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain(10 Commandments)? If yes, then you're a liar, thief, and a blasphemer in the sight of God. When you die & be judged by God, you'll be guilty of sin, & go to Hell! But God sent His Son Jesus to shed His blood & die on a cross for your sins, He was buried & rose again from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus died for your sins, was buried & resurrected)you'll not perish & have eternal life

  • i saw this video at the New Mexico state fair! :)

    i live in new mexico

  • I'm sure they made this video for a reason, abandoned mines exist all over blm land and state land. They can be considered a hazardous mine to the unexperienced.. but even the experience needs to think of it as a hazard some mines get abandoned due to poisonous gases being released, some gases are heavier than oxygen..

  • Is it bad that I'm laughing my ass off at the animation instead of taking this seriously?

  • wow real cowboys!

  • it's odd how INCREDIBLY inept the U.S. government considers you to be as a person, look at this video. SERIOUSLY!. But anyway, i guess you can't blame them, they did do the schooling too after all.

  • I am playing MInecraft while this plays in the background XD

  • its probably why they are abandoned :P

  • they should only cover mines like the one at 3:51 where you could fall in by accident. all the others you enter at your own risk

  • ...well, it is now June, 2011. ...& gold is beginning to head quickly towards the $2,000.00 on a 1 troy o-zee bar- Closing @ ~$1,612.58 today, 6/16/2011. Look for greater #'s of folks heading for these areas looking for whatever gold, poor fools believe, is still available: In these abandoned mines... or their new clandestine ones. W/this economy... (BLZ Bub to the prez): "Build a Greater 'Depression,' Obama; You and your post-WW2, US scab-Nazi Party... Build it!!"

    ...and 'they' will come...

  • fuck these assholes! abandoned mines are awesome!

  • @3521mtma Yeah totally. Drowning in deep water and asphyxiating is totally awesome. Use your brain.

  • @awesomeness1367 eat a dick you fucking bitch!!!! mine exploration is a great hobby. care and common sense are required. pussies and cunt-lesbians need not apply (i.e. awesomeness1367) .

  • @3521mtma Hmm really. I just love how you resort to sexual insults and calling me a pussy. You are just another non-educated person of Youtube. You people lack the brain power to make an insult without referring to sex or referring to the masculinity of an individual. I will not honor your sad attempt of an insult with a "comeback". If Abandoned Mines were not dangerous then they would not be making this video. It is dangerous, but of course with your miniscule IQ this matters not to you.

  • N,M,M,I, with our colors flying high...

  • "stay out and stay alive", that just takes all the fun out of it! : ) There are risks in everything, just have to do an assessment of the risks and use common sense. You have a higher chance of dying crossing an intersection in your average city then going underground.

  • It's not so much about avoiding lawsuits, or being a "nanny state,"but think of those that have to rescue these clowns from their own stupidity. No doubt if they somehow managed to get out on their own, they'd be looking for someone to sue. Some poor bastard has to come and risk his life and drag some fuckwit out, in a situation that would have been entirely preventable had said fuckwit not let his ïnner bonehead" lead him into trouble

  • 와오

  • the dynomite is very cool

  • FUCK AML!

  • Did you find any creepers down there?

  • wow, you kids on youtube even found a way to argue about abandoned mine shafts. Then say things like "oh im on the rescue squad, and oh i invented mines"

    Give a break children.

  • well done you just taught people how to prepare for going in to a abandoned mine. thank you NETs your a great help xD

  • Congratulations, all those guys in the animations earned the Darwin award.

    Watch where you're fucking going.

Don't fucking try to go climb down old rickety pitch black shafts or mill around its edge.

Don't disturb the old framework even if by touching it.

Use some fucking good batteries if you're going into a place like an abandoned mine and bring spares.

Don't fucking touch old dynamite the same way you wouldn't touch an old land mine or unexploded shell if you found one.

  • @FortitudeOfHeaven Or just don't go in. That's a better idea.

  • @FortitudeOfHeaven Search videos on youtube like drop stones on mine shaft and see a lot of darwin awards! but in this case are real human :)

  • fuckin pta moms. let the morons explore potentialy dangerous things. just because your kid cant figure out why its a bad idea to lick electric wall outlets doesent mean you should rid the world of things your kid shouldnt lick. "Well WE dont understand it, therfore WE will just destroy it for everyone." - uneducated fat woman trying to make it look like she gives a crap about stuff -whatever

  • I hope these people know that not everyone has a spaz attack right before they fall into a hole. By the way, if they person is dumb enough to cause an accident, whose to say they wont cause an accident somewhere besides a mine. Leave the mines open. Mark them off, put danger signs on them, but leave them there. Spend the millions of dollars where it counts.

  • My Friends and I go off Roading in our trucks on old mining land here in PA we arent stupid we look but dont go lol

  • i live in new mexico

  • i laughed watching some of those characters die...

  • These paranoid schyzos think they have to protect us from ourselves. They are not about freedom to live anf freedom to die. People die everyday. Too bad, thats just life. They make us wear seat belts and tell us that is is for our protection. Thats BS. They do it to protect the right wing capitalist insurance companies. As a verteran I fought for my freedom to do as I plrease as long as I stop at your nose. My life my responsibility!

  • @Engineer245 rescuers will be risking their lives when you are crying like a baby for your mother in there, that's why!

  • Hahaha this shit is funny:D

  • Bullshit, that guy with the hard hat is a fucking idiot. These ppl are all beaurocratic faggots. If youre gonna go exploring mines, just dont be a damn fool and dont touch anything. not that difficult

  • Jesse Ventura starts narrating at 1:38.

  • pfffttt thats rediculus mines are fun places. espacially when you come across a cartthen you can ride it around like scooby doo. hahaha

  • i say blow em up so i can come clean up all the gold that gets blown loose

  • Great film. but instead of just blasting everything shut they ought to take a few of the larger, better contructed mines and render them safe for exploration by tourists, which is what they did with Ruggles Mine in New Hampshire, it preserves history and gives the curious a safe outlet.

  • It is NOT the governments responsibility to protect people from them selves. Our freedoms to be stupid is being taken away slowly but surely. Its like in San Diego, sign says KILLER WHALE. wow you would think that is all you need, nope, still a moron took his cloths off and swam with the killer whale. HIS FAULT yuip, PUTTING A SIGN IN FRONT OF OLD MINES, DANGER ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK, if you get hurt that is your fucking problem, be responsible for your own actions

  • am i the only one who finds those animations hilarious?

  • wouldnt it be cool if they kept this to actual information and informed the public how to be safe as opposed to a bunch of bs about dynamite and how a piece of wood is holding up an entire mountain.Sure!

And Steve Price... heres an idea... WATCH WHERE YOU ARE RIDING! if you ride into the road you will probably die when you get hit by a car.. however we still use roads.

  • What a joke. Lets talk about how many people are injured or killed in "abandoned" mines. Any takers on that. How about less than 4 per year.

I cant think of any other recreational activity that has fewer injuries.

However, if we are destroying history lets move on to houses and structures.

The AML is misusing our tax dollars to mitigate something that isnt a problem.

  • @goldrushexpedinc

This is correct goldrushexpedinc. If you do your research, ALL of the people who have died or been injured in Southwestern mines since the mid 1900's were due to lack of use of common sense, or in only one recorded case, were exploring alone. No one exploring with an educated or experienced group has made these statistics.

We need more education about our history and its remnants, not destruction and closures.

    Embraced, not erased!!

  • As an urban explorer i've seen shit that changed my life and been places that people with brass balls would never go. I would NEVER EVER go more the 2 inches in an abandoned mine. this video states everything that i would would say............ STAY THE FUCK OUT!!!!!!!!!

  • @oshilzl thats probably because your a big pussy and not able to use common sense.

  • @oshilzl HAHAHA, you are an urban explorer... Okay... lets see where you have been. What are you like 15. If you dont have a decent comment to make, then stfu.

  • @goldrushexpedinc Mabye you should stfu pussy.

cuz all your going is "exploring mines"

when really youre going 2 feet inside and crying like a baby

I've been to asylums, water pumps, Power houses, Scary ass houses, lakes, and a bunch of other abandoned stuff. i bet you couldnt last 5 seconds in a asylum at night

  • @oshilzl Yep, yer right man. check out our page and website, we never go deep into mines, or rappel hundreds of feet down shafts. so waterpumps are scary.. Abandoned houses!!! NO WAY!!! Thats so scary!! You are a bad ass..I was wrong.

So, where is your listing of where you have been? Id love to look at it and your pics too!!

Asylums.. lets see... most haunted asylum in US is Bartonville, Ill.

And we've been there and doc'ed it.

    douche!

  • @oshilzl -

you really should research before you open your mouth. really. abandoned isnt scary, and your comments show just how little experience you have. I bet you see ghosts in your abandoned places too, right? Lots of orbs... way to go!

  • @goldrushexpedinc ? how bout full body apperitions

    mines arnt everything

we've encountered old patiants from asylums, they attacked us

and let me guess old prospecters attack you with their pick axe's

    ooooooooooo scary fucking fag

  • @CoolVideoGameVideos no I meant a bunch of you all in the mine and it collapses and it will be a mass grave for all buried alive hell it happens in active mines so it's only a matter of time for the abandoned ones. good luck have fun and if and when it happens don't cry for help just die like a man.

  • @CoolVideoGameVideos safety???? no a mass grave

  • by the way Ive been inside 15 abandoned mines and never have I been killed, or injured!

  • @snyperT21 yet !!!!!! good luck may the devil reach up from hell and grab you by your nuts .

  • @snyperT21 Gosh........ none of us smart people would have ever have worked that out.

I suppose when there no more stupid comments from you it would be reasonable to assume something has gone badly wrong for you.

  • abandoned mines are fun!

  • hahaha i wanna know the music from beginning to like 3:20

  • HAHAHA. Touching the dynomite. XD

  • Is that guy even correct about the speed of a falling rock? He's comparing 10 feet to 200 feet...but after a certain distance, the rock has reached it's terminal velocity. This is similar to the "drop a dime from the empire state building and it will crack the sidewalk" Mythbusters stuff that people believed for a long time until it was disproven.

  • this guy are trying to keep people away from mines because they know there is !!!!GOLD!!! there

  • Abandoned mines are awesome, a world of beauty and wonder shut off from the outside world - each is wonderous and unique, I'd never give up exploring them!

  • lol the animations are so crapy

  • @nonginger the animations are not that bad...what did you expect PIXAR lol

  • Excellent video. My job is to ensure that all openings to abandoned mines are secure. Certainly I understand why kids whant to go in and explore but I also fully understand what they dont. Someone has to be be the bearer of bad news when it goes wrong. Then there is the cost of recovery and and the enormous cost of the enquiry. Prevention is better than cure. Stay out stay alive.

Only one reason to want to go in but a hundred reasons not to go in.

  • This video is right-on for mine exploring safety and mine feature education. People reserve the right to make their own decisions according to their best judgment.

    "Embraced, not erased!"

  • ooooh!! Hold my hand! legislate my safety! did you see the soft government boys in this video? Hilarious! what are these mammas boys going to do next? seal off the entrance to carlsbad?

  • @Orangeschpiel

Dumb ass, macho wannabe. If you get trapped in a mine, someone who really doesn't want to do the job will have to go in and try and get your stupid ass out of there.

    Grow up.

  • NANNY STATE NARTZIS! if people want to wxplor and kil themselves that their problem!

  • Good video! Hope some of these fools watch it.

  • i defiantly learn things from this video that i never knew about mines thanks for the upload

  • @dmc081 just wondering..... how does one "defiantly" learn?

  • We get "do gooders" in the UK trying to impose restrictions on going into mines. Oh its dangerous. No it is not! Many people have been visiting mines 30+ years and not one hospital required accident, a few scuffs, like any sport but thats it. Mine exploring is safer the Rugby! Thats a fact! All you do is follow some basic rules. Helmet, good light + backup light, dont go alone when exploring, look all around you when moving. Movement is critical. Do this and do something interesting.

  • Problem is, people go somewhere, let their kids do whatever they want, and then when someone gets hurt, they sue the park or BLM for not securing the "Hazard" And they win. Many hiking trails are permanantly closed to the public for this reason. In the 90s there was a rockfall in Hawaii along a popular hiking trail that leads to one of Hawaii's biggest falls. People were killed. Families sued and won. The trails are closed and now the only way to even see the falls is by helicopter.

  • agreeable, however still those kids could die in a horrible car accident, so should driving be illegal? hell no! should swimming at the beach be illegal because a kid could die from an undertow? Hell no!

  • The only good thing about this video is that it explains what the different parts of an abandoned mine are called.

  • Very informative video!

  • why the fuck do these people feel that they have a right to keep everyone safe. My safety is my choice. Besides we all die in the end anyway, thats life

  • people care. what a crime

  • We aren't all senseless spackers, if youe nter a mine you generally know the risks...

  • I didn't ask them too care! should we outlaw all dangerous thing in this country, because if we do you won't even be allowed to drive because that can kill you. so can everything else from swimming to hunting, to even sports. everything has danger. Like I said its my choice on how I go.

  • @snyperT21

    "We all die, that's life"

  • @snyperT21 because when you go in and something happens and you send someone for help and they bring the fire and rescue crew now your endangering the lives of others to save your ass. That why they want to keep everyone safe so you don't endanger others.

  • @cuttingman6969 BS, if that was true then rock climbing, white water rafting and even hiking would also be illegal, because those are activities in which people have had to be rescued from as well. Think before you respond!

  • @cuttingman6969 don't even bother responding to me anymore it won't change anything.

  • @cuttingman6969 Usually they dont send anyone in. Only large mining companys have a rescue staff. Most states insurance waivers will not let them enter mines. abandoned or otherwise.

Strangely its the mine explorers that usually end up getting people out. The S&R dont know what or where to do.

  • @snyperT21 They aren't trying to keep anyone safe. They are trying to prevent lawsuits. If it weren't for that they wouldn't give a shit.

  • @snyperT21 No one gives a flying fcuk if you wish to kill yourself, but it's the safety of those expected to rescue you or recover your worthless body that's foremost in this debate.

  • @ozzirt ok first of all, I told you not to fucking respond to me ass holes. second I don't fucking think the rescue worker give a shit, it's not as dangerous as a firefighters job or your mothers bed! I was standing up for my rights, and I never said I wanted to kill myself either. anyway its been forever since this came up, so please fuck off with the comments asswipe, cause im not going to fuck respond again!!! I get the last shots!!!

  • @Snyper21T Yep and if you had a single functioning braincell you would have realised that anyone with any experience whatrsoever would make a comment. In fact I'd say you only made your childish post to get a reaction, so you were a success in that regard.

Unfortunately in every other regard, it appears that you are no more than a complete and utter waste of space.

  • @ozzirt Well put sir!!!

  • ok, this is a crock, I myself have been into several different abandoned mines in the western states and im not dead. I say that these people are taking away from history as well as freedom. If someone wants to do something dangerous, tha'ts there choice.

  • @snyperT21 ok lets say u are walking in a mine and u drop your guard for a split secon an instant later your falling down a winze or you aren't paying attention and u accidentally kick a box of tri nitro tuluine TNT and boom

  • first of all the word is second, and 'second' if that very unlikely event happened oh well, I knew the risks. Buddy I've been around these sort of places all my life. They may be dangerous but so is driving a car, or parachuting, of even swimming. should these be illegal too?

  • i miss spelled second because the "d" button on my other keyboard sticks alot im not saying driving a car or skydiving should be illegal every thing has consequences the one reason driving and other things that any red blooded person loves to do arent illegal is because the individual is not on private property whereas an abandoned mine is

  • Not all abandoned mines are on private property. Nelson Nevada, and silver city Idaho, are great examples and are my favorite areas to go exploring the old mines. None of that property is owned anymore. However if its posted I will stay off.

  • lol at 4:34

  • LOL 5:33 he got pwned

  • Extremely good video.

  • So you guys want to distroy historical sites to to save the life's of a few dumb asses Come on!!, Just post some signs! Don't In force

personal safety!!!!, Let the individual Decide weather or not to risk his life Entering a mine!!!!!!!!!!

  • @beestube76 "enforce", typo dude. Point well taken though

  • @beestube76 The only trouble is, some poor rescue worker will have to risk his or her live to go in and save said dumbarse from his own stupidity. They should just put a fence aound the accesses, and work out the details of saving/sealing later. Some of these mines might not really be finished yet. Some may reveal new seams with modern technology

  • @Mechknight73 Finally... a sensible statement. Someone hs the good sense to see the bigger picture and actually consider consequence.

  • @petermines There's always so many of these clowns who, while regard for their own safety is optional, they should at least think of the rescue personnel that these morons will no doubt demand come in and save them from. Some of them will no doubt be Darwin Award winners. "Awarded to people whom improve the evolution of the human race by excluding themselves from the gene pool." To qualify, you have to be incapable of breeding; death is a qualifier.

  • @Mechknight73 Agree 100%. There are some rediculous comments below. One of the greatest risks is oxygen deficiency. Nobody wants to see anyone hurt so the best solution is keep out. I'm a mining engineer working on abandoned mines program and I know all too well the dangers. Common sense is simply not enough in old mines. Good sense says stay out and stay alive.

The prime directive is self perservation but this may only trip in with fear when somone is actually trapped or injured. Too late.

  • @petermines I haven't worked in the mining industry, but have worked on the periphery of the mining industry; industries that service mining, such as hotshot freight. It amazes me to this day how some idiots are allowed to work on a mine, and got there because they had a friend who works there. One open cut iron ore mine I know of has what's left of a Toyota Landcruiser after a CAT 793 stepped on it parked outside the main office. The banner in front reminds you to be safety conscious lol

  • @beestube76 As with most amateur splunkers, they do not realize that the RESCUERS are the ones who RISK THEIR LIVES to SAVE YOURS.

    STAY OUT

    STAY ALIVE

  • @augdog1230 The rescuers knew what they were getting into when they signed up on the rescue squad. I'll go spelunking if I want to. Keep your advise to yourself.

  • @OneSkiWonder There is a Darwin Award awaiting you at the bottom of the mine.

  • @augdog1230 I'm on a rescue squad dumb fuck. I enjoy my jobs, dangerous, entertaining and never the same.

  • @beestube76 What's the point of 'preserving' the mineshaft itself when it can't ever be reopened? The shaft itself is unstable.... You can close a shaft but leave the above ground structures. Not just dumbasses who go exploring mineshafts get killed. Cave ins occur, sink holes, etc, and people who are unaware of the danger can be killed.

  • @beestube76

    Lawyers have ruined this country.

  • What a well done video! And the narrator sure has a sexy voice.
