I was surprised to find this album had 17 songs on it. I figured it would be an ep or something.

there is a certain sadness to some of the songs the Avett brothes write especially the solo pieces. Sometimes there is a certain simple child like honesty and melancholy.  This is one of those songs that you write when someone has left and you're writing it right in the middle of all those feelings. At the beginning of Stephen Kings Pet Cemetary, he writes, "the path to a mans heart is stonier." Songs like this cast a clear light on all the stones that have fallen on the path of a mans heart.

@confuser69 Well I just discovered this band about 55 minutes ago and I have yet to find a song I don't really really like. I only withhold the word "love" because love takes a little more time. Confuser, I had to respond cause I had the same reaction to this band. I know there are great indie bands out there that I've yet to discover but it's rare that a band has 2 singers this good. Not sure how these guys have avoided me but I'm glad they found me. Peace
