hey ive got a seac sub x fire 95. i knwow that its not that big a gun but its got this little tiny buttstock with solid grip on it (not rubber) and when i load it, it leaves these annoying grazes/welts and it wont stay still on my wetsuit even though its got a "loading pad" the gun just slipps down and hits me in the stomach. is there anything i can do thats easier than getting a higher quality wetsuit? thanks
I recently got a second hand (but hardly used) seahornet competition gun and i can't for the life of me get the single thick black band back. It is a bit cracked (the band) so my question is, can i get a band that is a bit easier to pull back or is it that this one is only difficult being that its a bit old and cracked? I'm not a big guy but have worked as a bricklayer and can lift 100lbs cement bags all day
got any tips for people with a long speargun and short arms *short but powerful arms i might add :)* because i have to load it at hip and it has no attached pad and its killing my pelvic bone :(
I just got my first speargun in the mail today. It's a double band gun, I'm wondering which do you load first, the inner or outer band? Also which one goes where on the forward and aft notches?
It's a good video with good advice. Fuck the stupid comments. As for safety glasses they are in case a band /gun/piece of gun breaks not in case a spear is flying at you... If you have good quality bands that are not worn out the chances of them breaking are about as much as you shooting a yellow fin tuna in 100' of water from your desk chair... One more thing the small butts on the Rob Allan Euro style guns can be quite painful to load if you're loading often or heavy banded.
So your telling me this guy is a pro?Thats why he uses a fin out of water? What are you supposed to do take your fin off everytime you have to reload? What a joke thats why you get a gun with a butt.
@markey808 No, you will have a wetsuit on which will add protection for your chest. The gun is a rob allen, which is easy to load even though they dont have loading pads. It isn't a joke, just get your facts straight.
Actually the weight of the shaft is what determines penetration.more bands w/ a light shaft will only yield distance but if shooting big fish i.e. tuna you wont have the penetration. 2 bands will just give more power. lighter shaft w/ more power means more distance. more power (bands) with heavier shaft yields penetration. this is why blue water guns use in upwards of 6 bands w/ a 7.5mm shaft or bigger. now you have the power (3,4,5,6 bands) good penetration (7.5 mm) and distance (3,4,5,6 bands)

Thanks for the video, it's really helpful.

@FantasticBob7000 It may vary but I first load the longest one, because it is on the bottom then I load the top one which is shorter.

@scruffyrunkin you're so stupid, what the hell are safety glasses gonna do when a spear is flying at you?

spearfishing wetsuits have a chest pad for loading.. he prolly didnt want to suit up just to show how to load

That's why freediving suits have the chest loading pad, Easy with the wettie on, hard in just a rashie!

how come you aren't supposed to load it outside the water?
Fweezle1 2 years ago
cause it might missfire and hit sum people
woody3757 2 years ago
cuz the line can snap and destroy your gun or even somebody's face...remember, everything's much faster outside the water

tommyhunt20 3 years ago
So if they dont excist u dont understand that a spear gun fires spears but i actually think that spear guns fire mushrooms...

machine gun doesnt fire machines so how would i know?!
tommyhunt20 3 years ago 2
i bet they do.
dasgemuse 3 years ago
First thing i ever learned about loading a speargun is that its never to be loaded out of water... nice rule and i never break it.
Zachry86 4 years ago 2
could be wrong but it looks like a 120-130.. a gun that length with a single 20mm band will do damage, no questions asked
sickbugz 4 years ago
hey does anyone know why you need two rubber band thingys ? is it more powerful or something?
joHnBaRtLeT 4 years ago
because with 2 bands a speargun has more power and can penetrate larger fish ;)
