  • i personaly love how british they are - good old mancs - "you little sod i love your eyes"

  • WTF is this song called. Called the Leaders of the Free World with weak as piss political reference, okay,.. going back to the GF and home town... sure, hardly alienation or a jibe at the contradiction of the term"free world".

  • @helruna93 It's called 'Station Approach' and it's from the album named after the song which seems fairly political to me.

  • @helruna93 This song has nothing political in it but the title track is about Bush which is clear from lines like 'passing the gun from father to feckless son' and is obviously poltical with lines like 'the leaders of the free are just little boys throwing stones'. This song is just about him coming home after a long time away. I'm not entirely sure what you were trying to say but it's annoying nonetheless. Great song.

  • In fact, I knew I recognised it. Its the City Road Inn on Whitworth Street.

  • At 3:46 there is a pub, I recognise this for some reason.... is this a pub in Manchester?

  • Sounds like something from The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis. Don`t sneer, be honest and if you are too young to know better, then go listen, go retro, go backwards, your future awaits you already, just ask your dad.

  • Has anybody seen another film clip for Leaders of the Free World? I saw it a while ago on youtube and went to try and link it to a friend and I couldn't find it! It involved the band in military uniform driving a Gundam-esque fighter suit. While playing laser instruments and fighting a holographic monster. It ended with their blasting off into space. Needless to say, it was very cool.

  • @Geeeeoheffeff

You might have already found it, but you're referring to the music video for 'Leaders of the Free World'

  • @SpartanM621 Yeah, but it wasn't like this. As far as memory can be trusted.

  • @Geeeeoheffeff

Ahh, I know what you mean, here is a link to the video I'm talking about:

    watch?v=RZGGrHcC_xM&ob=av3n

  • @SpartanM621 That's the one! I couldn't find it for ages! Love it! Thanks!

  • wonder if guy would marry me if i asked politely? <3

  • Right bloody luvverly

  • Brilliant tune. Thanks for posting... Have you considered changing the title to reflect the actual song title? Cheers.

  • heard this first time about two years ago with their previous album. never get sick of it. its fantastic they've grown so big now. Go Elbow! <3

  • elbow are the greatest band out there at the moment

cant wait to see them :)only two weeks now!! :)

  • one of my favourite elbow tunes

  • They piss excellence they're that good.

  • The best band of the last 10 years--every album is a work of wonder!

  • They arent from Manchester, they are from Bury. Sorry to be pedantic but we are very proud of them in Bury, they are good lads. Manchester rules by the way, it isnt like Im picking on it but Bury is Bury! hahahah

  • and Ian Brown is from the 'cham...

  • Ha ha, 'pedantic'... great word.

  • Top song. Fucking brilliant.

  • By far the most overlooked bands to come out of the UK in recent times. Fuck Coldplay, they aren't worthy to carry Elbows equipment.

  • I agree. Coldplay are highly overrated.

  • A gem of a video and a great song from an outstanding album.

  • maybe one of the most under rated bands of all time.

  • brilliant!!!thanks!!

  • always reminds me of home!

    Manchester! woo!

  • Brilliant! Love the song, and the album. Wish Elbow would play in Ireland...

  • they're coming to the Ambassador in October!

  • YEAAA!!! Bring on The Electric Picnic first, seen them at the 2006 EP, this years Glastonbury (Glory be to god!!) and in Vicar Street.. I'd crawl through a sewer pipe to see them.. it's just overwelming.

  • I love this song!

  • what's the title of this particular song?

  • Station Approach, it's the first song on the ablum.

  • In my life, I've been with a myriad of women but this song reminds me of the only one that I truly loved. . . and lost.

  • good job!!!!

I Love Elbow and Doves, for me, the best british bands

  • My favourite band in the world... SUPERB!

  • great song!

  • I've just discovered this band recently - I love Leaders of the Free World, Great Album, great Song.

  • Thank you so much for uploading these! I'm a big fan of Elbow, but sadly couldn't go to the show as I am under twenty-one. I wish they would have done an all-ages showing. Ah, well, maybe another time.
