WTF is this song called. Called the Leaders of the Free World with weak as piss political reference, okay,.. going back to the GF and home town... sure, hardly alienation or a jibe at the contradiction of the term"free world".
@helruna93 This song has nothing political in it but the title track is about Bush which is clear from lines like 'passing the gun from father to feckless son' and is obviously poltical with lines like 'the leaders of the free are just little boys throwing stones'. This song is just about him coming home after a long time away. I'm not entirely sure what you were trying to say but it's annoying nonetheless. Great song.
Sounds like something from The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis. Don`t sneer, be honest and if you are too young to know better, then go listen, go retro, go backwards, your future awaits you already, just ask your dad.
Has anybody seen another film clip for Leaders of the Free World? I saw it a while ago on youtube and went to try and link it to a friend and I couldn't find it! It involved the band in military uniform driving a Gundam-esque fighter suit. While playing laser instruments and fighting a holographic monster. It ended with their blasting off into space. Needless to say, it was very cool.
They arent from Manchester, they are from Bury. Sorry to be pedantic but we are very proud of them in Bury, they are good lads. Manchester rules by the way, it isnt like Im picking on it but Bury is Bury! hahahah
YEAAA!!! Bring on The Electric Picnic first, seen them at the 2006 EP, this years Glastonbury (Glory be to god!!) and in Vicar Street.. I'd crawl through a sewer pipe to see them.. it's just overwelming.
Thank you so much for uploading these! I'm a big fan of Elbow, but sadly couldn't go to the show as I am under twenty-one. I wish they would have done an all-ages showing. Ah, well, maybe another time.
i personaly love how british they are - good old mancs - "you little sod i love your eyes"

@helruna93 It's called 'Station Approach' and it's from the album named after the song which seems fairly political to me.

By far the most overlooked bands to come out of the UK in recent times. Fuck Coldplay, they aren't worthy to carry Elbows equipment.

I agree. Coldplay are highly overrated.
