this was the goalkeepers fault, I watched this on Ian Wrights dvd

apparently during the match the goaly kept digging hid foot into the ground to mark where to stand if the ball came close, he just dug it to deep and aloud the ball to bounce as it went into it because he dug to deep :P

This was a Premier League match between Blackburn and Liverpool at Ewwod Park. Tim Flowers (Goalkeeper) had made divots level with the centre of the goal and the posts so he could use them as guides for positioning.

Stan Collymore (Striker) thought that Flowers had gathered the ball and didn't even celebrate. He just held his arms up in disbelief. Flowers explained it all in the post match interview and was extremely embarassed.

And yes, the goal did indeed stand!
