I stopped paying attention to this review halfway through. So I'm guessing this probably isn't for me. That's alright though, within the past week I just bought Quarriors and Dominion thanks to Tom, so I think I'm doing alright. :P
The game looks like it could be fun, but it's frustrating that nothing looks like anything realistic. One big reason for a theme is as a mnemonic device, where the thing that looks like a power plant produces power, and the thing that looks like a factory requires power. If appearances don't make sense, the theme might as well not be there.
I would also like to see a really good SimCity board game. The lack of a board and three dimensional pieces really detracts for me in getting into the theme. As I watched this review all I could think about was the fact that it was just a bunch of pieces of cardboard laid next to each other. The mechanics sound interesting but I am not sure it peeked my interest enough to put it on my extensive wish list.
While I do enjoy Urban Sprawl, and all of it's chaos, I will admit it's not perfect. I personally do enjoy pick up and deliver games (Steam, Auf Achse, etc) and could see this being a good game to pick up. Something I will add to my BGG wishlist and will continue to monitor.
SO glad you reviewed this game, Tom. I was initially excited about it after seeing it on BoardgameGeek, but after seeing that it has gotten a couple mediocre reviews I wasn't so sure. Now I will be looking into it again. Thanks!

I'd go buy this right now if the tiles were hex shaped. Alas.

Fantasy Flight needs to make a boardgame out of SimCity: that way all wishes will be fulfilled.

I hope Tom will like my city building game. It has road pieces, and stackable floor tiles so you actually build your city.

do you think it could be possible for games like this one (where you build up from the beginning) to show a Fast-motion video of a quick game
