Its just not the most complex drumming in the song. But dont be fooled. Derrick was one of the greatest punk drummers around. Listen to the "DUH" record. RIP. Glad I got to see him play like 3 times with them from 1994-1997
stop worrying about the punks, probably be doctors and lawyers someday, yeah i am a 26 year old carpenter... but i still go to gigs, don't see many doctors or lawyers there though, reminds me i have made the right choices....
@halloweenking666 depends man...trashed is much heavier, longer songs, more complex (the metal riffs come out here and there)...feelings is much more melodic, poppy, and more produced i suppose ...fuck man theyre both amazing punk albums...get em both...theyre both in lagwagons top 3 albums for sure (with Hoss). shit man writing this has me fucking confused as to which is better...it depends on the mood...PEACE
@halloweenking666 dunno if I'm too late, but Let's talk about Feeling is probably the most accessible, Thrashed is my personal favorite though (the one where they found their sound, and it's still raw). Hoss is halfway between them, so that's why it's often referred as their best.
sickest band ever. Like nobody my age has ever even heard of them. makes me wanna punch them, and all the radio shows in my area in the throat. Lagwagon is real music
You're not gonna forget about tonight are you? I left your name at the door and everything...
There're not gonna be too many punks?
John would you stop worrying about the punks. They're just a bunch of kids with groing pains. I mean they'll probably be doctors and lawyers some day.
@1thess523 nobody in the 90s would ever have said "melodic hardcore" lol!!!
because punk wasnt commercial yet no one doubted or gave a shit what was punk and what wasnt, thats the difference between us punk kids in the 90s and todays kids. i love how the kids fight so hard to put labels on everything, must be frustrating and time consuming lol!!! this isnt an attack on you,its just a little piece of me dies when i hear lagwagon called "melodic hardcore".
@bongload831 , look you are only 19 so you were like 5yrs old when this scene was alive, all these bands were non as melodic hardcore bands, so you might want to rethink the "open their mouth" comment. Are you one of those kids that think Blink and Green Day are the best punk bands although blink isn't the same anymore? and are you one of those kids that thinks emo only applies to these mtv bands/goth kids?
THE WORDS NOR THE CONCEPT OF MELODIC HARDCORE DID NOT EXIST WHEN THESE GUYS MADE THIS. fuck off idiot.

@fVc4FACE lagwagon has mixed nardcore (ealier), with melodic hardcore, with alternative/pop punk (later) its all good when they do it!

Does anyone know where the opening dialogue is from? "John would you stop worrying about the punks ..." I assume it's from a film. Thx.

Why is this song not more recognized? it's easily one of their best, not that Lagwagon have ever made a bad song.
meelzonweelz69 6 months ago
why did melodic punk rock become the joke that it is today? this was borderline thrash, even better than those fucking assholes in Slayer.

@virtue696 well that's what it was called along with most of the other Fat and Epitaph bands, I didn't make it up. but I know what you mean

@virtue696 you know it, buddy. another lost era.

@virtue696 I totally get what you mean. I refer to all my favorite punk bands i.e. the Fat Wreck Revolution as just plain punk rock.
