personally I would say foals aren't genre specific, they rip off steve reichs quite a bit and minimalism isn't really involved with the indie or emo scene. plus they have a little math-y ticks now and then. although to be honest, this whole process of trying to categorise bands, distorts the point of trying to make music. especially when things like this happen, you shouldn't label music.
