Yeaa they are originally german, and the base design is german, but the original didnt have a fuel injected turbo set up lol, germans made it, japanese improved it
@madjimms It's actually German power. The rotary was invented and developed by Germans who then sold the design to the Japanese. The engines still retain the name of their German inventor, Felix Wankel.
@madjimms No my friend Wankel designed it AND built it. The first car to use a Wankel Rotativo was the German car company NSU (Audi). Volkswagen bought NSU and renamed it Audi and stopped using the Wankel in favor of piston motors. The Wankel was also used in motorcycles, snowmobiles and airplanes. NSU licensed Mazda to use the Wankel in their cars but no matter how you look at it, Rotativos are pure GERMAN power. Lo unico que sera Japones en un Rotativo sera los sellos y nada mas.
@aoj2108 That's like saying that Mr. Diesel had something to do with Cummins or Isuzu diesels... Just because someone comes up with an ORIGINAL design, doesn't mean the rest are based solely on that persons own schematics.
Lol you guys are crazy, ive seen extremely fast mazdas, toyotas, and nissans, i prefer the 2jz over a rotary engine, but rotaries are wayyyy easier to build, and with a great tune, rotarys will last you years without having to open up the motor
@richrich27 RB's can rev that high too, its called bore stroke, Rotor engines are prone t oil leaking and failing, I know someone who had one as a daily it broke every two months and needed a full engine rebuild, it always leaked oil and he sold it and got a silvia, he said the silvia was way better and one of the best cars he has ever owned.
@REPOMAN24722 ru retarded... their safe limit is like 9500rpm. from then, the whole system starves for oil. but ok. fine. straight-6 are amazing. but how could u hate the rotary engines...
@richrich27 They sound like farts and break all the time, they leak oil among other things. The higher revving engines the worse the sound 7500-8000 is the best.
@REPOMAN24722 did they in the le mans? no... did they win alms? no... y? cause its too heavy... but those are great engines. but they chose this engine cause its small and lightweight so it makes sense...
dont get me wrong... but 2jz in a suzuki is wrong...
@richrich27 You do relise that the nissan skyline gtr's are the most succesfull cars in motorsport history, they have won more events than any other car in the world, Many other companies such as GM have pulled the rb26dett engine appart and called it a mechanical masterpiece.
@REPOMAN24722 now i know that the gt-r won many races but i dont think it will be a good idea in a "suziki"... a k-car with a straight 6 turbo monstor. i understand your case in arguement... but i meant compatibility with this car... yes the gt-r won all its races in 1991 but thats mostly due to its ateza system... but the motor is also good to.
@richrich27 Of course, the car would be too heavy at the front but a more populat swap for the suzuki is the SR20DET, my friends dad is getting one put in, They go crazy with the SR20DET's plus the SR's have more low end torque so it will still be good off road where as rotaries have almost non existant low end torque.
@REPOMAN24722 in theory, the sr20set is more peaky and it has actually less torque... but it is also a good idea. but considering that a sr20det is heavier than an american ls1 engine... and a 4 rotar is lighter than that, i think this is perfect. high revs, no turbo lag, and reliable. but this seems like a drag car so peaky and lag doesnt matter...
@REPOMAN24722 dont start it again... they are reliable... all engines are reliable. its just how they treat it... and it is reliable. proven at 24 hours of le man.
@richrich27 That only lasted 24 hours, im talking about them needing a engine rebuild every 2 months because the seals leak among other problems. RB26DETT and 2JZ are better, my friend built a 1900hp 2jz then it went to 1800hp within 2 days and stayed there. Can you name a rotary that makes 1800hp.
@REPOMAN24722 There's plenty of rotary engines that can make that much.. Old aircraft uses a radial design. But true about 13b 20b wont seal properly if pushing to much hp.
@REPOMAN24722 can u name the fact a rb26 2.6L an 2jz 3.0L which to make over 1500hp would be stroked 2 a rb 3.0L an the 2jz 3.2-3.4L dnt think ive seen a rotory stroker.. but can say ive seen a 1600hp 20b b4 that didnt BLOW UP or have seals replaced every 2 months . your talking about it like horsepower really matters no skyline or supra has gotten into a 6.4 sec 1/4 pass .. (:
What all is dont to that motor? iv got me a samurai and im wantin to go with a rotary motor, is it a 12a? it sounds better than most the 12As on here, you are probably using a better camera than most ppl on here are
the sparks you see mightbe coming from the drive shaft rubbing on the body when loaded.........iv seen that a thousand times because of them lowering it
@zuku26 I dont know about america, but the SJ's always came on leafs over here, they actually look pretty identical to the ones on my stock 413 long wheel base.
As for the tyres question id guess at 245 rears and 185 fronts. I run 295-50x15 Kumho KL12's on mine.
@TheIronz Here in the USA The sammy only came in Leaf spring trim, in fact the only real changes got from 86-95 was the 2 years of a 2wd option (which I have one of) and the switch to EFI in 89. the other very few changes were strictly cosmetic. like the square vents, the "special Edition" with nifty seat colors and the rear split seat and grill change.... Now the lucky ones north of the US border got the LWB and over the pond really lucked out and the LWB 4 doors!!
