Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I'll be able to vote this year due to issues with my driver's license. (It's a long story.) But if I do vote, Bob Barr is the one who will get my vote! But whether I'll be able to vote or not, I've been spreading the word and raising awareness about Bob Barr, raising awareness that the "two party system" is a delusion, and raising awareness that those two parties are responsible for corrupting our government and making it bigger.

i don't know where you live but in almost all of the states there is no need for a drivers license. in many there is no requirement for a picture ID.

I'm going to try it then. I am still registered in this state, I think. (?) I voted in the '00 presidential election and the '02 governor election. But then moved away in '04 and came back a couple of months ago. I do believe I am still registered here though. My license is out of state and a copy of my birth certificate is lost and have to send off for another one from a totally different state. I don't know how long that will take. (I moved around a bunch my whole life.) So, I hope I can vote.

I would agree with you on Baldwin...reading the first paragraph of the Constitution Party platform scares me off - all I see there is evangelism with a libertarian leaning; its an interpretation of the Constitution, not the word of the Constitution. The Libertarians and Ron Paul seem pretty much in line as far as policies go.

I like his presentation here, and I liked the position on the Bailout he gave to CNN. There's a book out now called, I think, "Doctrine of Fear" (It was on the Colbert Report) that echoes what he said about the government using alarming situations like this "credit crunch" like Katrina to pass extreme legislation and rulings. Eventually even some of the ones that hold out are either bought over or they see "-777 points on the DOW" and panic. Its a problem that needs fixing.

He actively advanced & was a component of the effort to make sure that medical marijuana's federal ban would preservere that the legislation is called the Barr Amendment.

If there was a candidate that came out as a huge gun rights advocate and partly based his campaign around it & announced his New views on it just a few months after being nominated, then you found out that the national handgun ban is NAMED after him would you believe the guy

I think Barr still believes that all the things he fought against are wrong. He has just realized that legislating morality does not work. He has tried it. I think that makes his point more legitimate, because he can say: Even though i believe this to be immoral, the gov has no right to make you stop if you aren't hurting anyone. As for the patriot act, if Barr hadn't put the sunset clauses in it, it would be permanent. It was going to pass no matter what, cause people were scared.

That's what I was getting at. To your non drug user, who we have to target to get legalization, that is a more valid point than the one you and I agree on: individual rights. As for the patriot act, I think you're right, he shouldn't have voted for it. But if he wasn't onboard would his clause have gone in it? Do you know?

The number one person we have to target to get legalization, prior to his presidential campaign, is Barr, who has LED movements to defeat medical marijuana legalization at every chance.

If you've only read Atlas Shrugged, I'd like to suggest you read Anthem. It is the story of a society that has collapsed and been taken over by a facist government. It starts a little weird because the characters never use words like I or You, but we. Use of the word "I", is punishable by death for daring to consider oneself an individual rather than part of the collective whole. It's a short book and a very good story. Really makes you think, too.
