what's truely remarkable about john is that he often composes songs that can be performed by any novice guitar player but it's always such a fantastic tune that's unsurpassable by any other guitarist who plays 100notes per second..that's what i call creativity...and of course when he wants he performs solos that can literatelly blow your mind...either by being extremely emotional or hard as f*ck..

@pepeuepe Same with james "munky" shaffer from KoRn if you see his interveiws about how to play his songs he is playing very easy stuff that i can play being a bassist i suck at regular guitar lol too many strings. and he doesnt know much music theory at all his like i kinda just hit this string one and then this note and ummm well just let me show you. but i respect that because to me there music is really meaning full just as much as the chilli peppers are to me

that is exactly what i try to explain to everyone but they're fucking obnoxious and like "no he doesnt even play fast" or "i bet he can't even sweep/shred" the best guitarists in the world are the ones that play with feeling and not skill. its easyish to write a good sounding song thats very technical but takes a lot of skill, it takes infinitely more skill to write a song thats easy and sounds great. look at john, jimi, slash, kirk hammett(more than you would usually think) etc.
