I dont know about the Metroid Prime Trilogy. Not only because im a purist when It comes to video games, but because I can get all three Metroid prime games much more less than this 70 dollar disc. What do you think about it?
The only downfall I found, is the visual effects of all 4 charge beams (the beams of light in that shine out of the body of the power beam, the burning embers that rise from the plasma beam, and so on) were left out. I mean it by no means deminishes how awesome prime is. BUT, it woulda been NICE if they would have kept that.
@HossHobart yep i found that too, also the water effects are worse in the trilogy, cos in the gamecube original all the water in the game had ripples when shot into or jumped into, like if u became the morphball in the water the ripples an wave effect which would follow the ball loked awesome! but the wii version does not have this! strange they left it out,overall the wiimote makes a massive difference to the franchise an is defo the best way to play the trilogy! am doing a marathon now of all3
I never had the oportunity to play Prime, but I THINK it's way better than Other M. Other M is fine, and I enjoyed it, but I think Prime kick asses...
I have one more tip for everyone: when you reach planet Phaaze, and you are in a state of permanent hypermode and slowly corrupting, you can rid yourself of some of the Phazon by using the super grapple beam against those Phazon pool heads or whatever they are. Simply grapple them, push the controll stick upward, and you will expell phazon into the enemy, hereby eliminating a very large load of your phazon load (this the only time when lots of Phazon is a bad thing).
@HeartThief21 This disc was discontinued a while ago. However, you can still easily find it used at a Gamestop. I see it all the time. Just pack fifty dollars or so with you when you go to get it. Word of advice: DO NOT look for one on ebay. There are unopened copies of it all over the place there, but they are usually much more than list price - often around $150. So save yourself the wallet-ache and go get a used copy at Gamestop.
Although I already completed the storyline for Prime 1, I played it again to try to get a 100%. I just want to see if I can get that perfect score. :) It's still fun the second time around....and maybe the third time...or the fourth time...and so on. It's just so addicting! Prime 1 was the first 1st-person shooter I've completed.
I love this trilogy so far. :) The storyline's pretty interesting. Some people like the Halo trilogy, but as a devoted Nintendo fan, I prefer the Metroid Prime trilogy. :) You could say it's Nintendo's version of Halo, because both are science fiction first-person shooter games.
I started Echoes immediately after finishing Prime 1. The plot for this game is a little darker than the plot for Prime 1, because I witnessed members of the Galactic Federation getting killed by the Ing. :(
it would be cheaper to get the first 3 metriod games cause the first is 3.99 and the secont is 9.99 and the third is 19.99 = $34.00 i think im going to do that. should i?
@XxTheResurrectionxX although i have never played any of the 3 primes i would say go with trilogy because they intergrated the corruption controls into prime and echoes which i think are much easier to use

I am making some good progress in Prime 1. My goal is to finish the entire trilogy, from start to finish. It may take me a little while (probably a year or even more), but I'm up to the challenge. :)
It looks BEAUTIFUL on a hi-def TV. When I saw the opening cutscene for Prime 1, I was amazed by how breathtaking the graphics were. It was as if I was watching an awesome CGI film.
I'm still on Prime 1, but I love it already. This game is definitely INTENSE; it gives me a surge of adrenalin that I often experience with games like that. I have the edition you mentioned: metal case and bonus art booklet. I am so lucky I got it, too; it was not until after I bought it that I realized Nintendo discontinued manufacturing and shipping the game a few months ago. It may become a hot collector's item someday.
Indeed it is... actually, my theory on why Nintendi discontinued the game is that it was too expensive to make because of the case, i think it's possible.

Fire with B sucks because the only leverage you have is to put pressure back on the controller with your thumb... which makes you press A! You'll find yourself jumping when in a firefight.

@chaincat22 Start Prime 3 over, and use hypermode sparingly. And when using hypermode, you need to get in and get out as quickly as possible. I believe that upon entering hypermode, you have enough time before corrupted hypermode to fire a full charge beam. At this point, turn it off immediately and wait a little while. Still, don't risk it - use it only when you have a huge crowd of enemies and you need to try to eliminate them all fast.
@TheKnightguard1 i meant the difficulty hypermode. i can own everything in all other modes but hyper mode i get anhilated. i get the shields down but the bombers die in like 5 seconds.

@strongo25 No in reality The wii won't be able to hold strong graphics compared to the ps3 or 360 or even the pc for that matter. The wii might be able to hold graphics that look good for a idk 2007-2008 looking game but it won't have any ground breaking designs.

Well cod mw2 is one of a kind, it looked good but was terrible, but thats just cause IW sold out and were cheap bastards. when i play a game the first thing i see are the graphics i havent seen a game with better graphics then super mario galaxy yet on any sestem so they are not life like better to have simply and perfect then complicated and half assed you know most wii owners arent looking for a good war game (mostly because they have all gone wayy downhill) but a good challening game that plays well at the same time. the only thing the wii has pulling it down are the 3rd party "crapwear" ports

back then when I bought metroid prime it was combined with the gamecube bundle I bought. Personally out of all my gamecube games, it was one of THE GREATEST games I have I ever played. Ordinarily, it costs $50 bucks back then but why would you want to waste money for 1 game when you can waste a reasonable amount of money for 3? I recommend prime trilogy as it has prime 1,2 and 3.
Guesterdude, You should play Super Metroid, for the Snes. You can download an emulator and play it on ur pc. That is the best metroid game (my opinion)

You unlock Hypermode difficulty by beating a game once, so actually you don't get all the difficulties from the beginning, and also the small cutscenes that play when you start a game showing Samus change depending on which suit you currently have in that game. Just a few mistakes in this video which I wanted to correct.
That is true, and of course, you have to give him a break. When he made this video, he only just started Prime 1 and completed 36% of it. well, I bought both, it comes down to, would you rather play an epic story and collect all sorts of collectables and read about the metroid universe, or play a multiplayer game, which I find can be glitchy almost always, but nothing addicting. I'm still waiting for unique FPS online wii (ie: metroid hunters wii, which would be awesome)
I'm pretty sure you've progressed much farther in the game since you made this video (here you mentioned that you just defeated Thardus), but I have a question: did you happen to obtain the Gravity Suit? I noticed that you had some minor complaints regarding graphics, in particular the water and the magma. Now, this is probably just my personal opinion, but I think the graphical quality of the water improves exponentially after obtaining the gravity suit due to the new visor capabilities.
Wii - controls really make this game one of the best EVER. Playing metroid prime/echoes with a wii controller is like trading in a Volkswagen for a Porche.
my only complaint with this game is that they don't include the original title screens from the other metroids (which are actually some of the best menu screens in game history). And that it doesn't import the corruption save file, but playing corruption again isn't a bad thing :D

Halo is stuck with Xbox 360. It stays only with Xbox360 so as to make people buy the console. Sad though...

Got this for Christmas and it is SWEET! I tried to play Corruption first, and couldn't get into it. Thanks to Nintendo, now I can play all 3(in order of course)!

it was either picking between this and twilight princess and i chose this, i love the 2d metroids and i heard that the prime series were like that but in 3d, i have prime hunters but i didnt really like the story but i guess that was just a multiplayer game so im kind of excited getting this one due to the single player experience

Yeah, I'm one of those people because my family has been wanting a Wii since it came out. But we haven't gotten an exuse until now. (christmas) And I am getting this for Christmas as well. Its going to be a fantastic christmas this year. I sound like some rich kid. Lol I'm not.

back then when I bought metroid prime it was combined with the gamecube bundle I bought. Personally out of all my gamecube games, it was one of THE GREATEST games I have I ever played. Ordinarily, it costs $50 bucks back then but why would you want to waste money for 1 game when you can waste a reasonable amount of money for 3? I recommend prime trilogy as it has prime 1,2 and 3.

Guesterdude, You should play Super Metroid, for the Snes. You can download an emulator and play it on ur pc. That is the best metroid game (my opinion)

i felt that multiplayer didn't need wi-fi. sure it's cool to have it there but there is no point. it's, in my opinion, the only boring part of the game.

And also, this guy thinks they also revamped all the graphics, but no, they didn't, they just brushed it up a little, added 'Bloom' light effects to Prime 1, etc. They didn't change the lava or water at all.

You unlock Hypermode difficulty by beating a game once, so actually you don't get all the difficulties from the beginning, and also the small cutscenes that play when you start a game showing Samus change depending on which suit you currently have in that game. Just a few mistakes in this video which I wanted to correct.

That is true, and of course, you have to give him a break. When he made this video, he only just started Prime 1 and completed 36% of it. He wouldn't have known those other facts unless he beat one of the games or progressed far enough into them.I would know; I just beat Prime 1 and started Prime 2.

For story and graphics DEFINATLEY Trilogy (Conduit has better Graphics technically, but Trilogy has better art and lighting etc)
For Multiplayer the Conduit, just cos Trilogy's is still rather mediocre with no wifi.
Overall I would go for trilogy for being the best FPS on the Wii imo.

well, I bought both, it comes down to, would you rather play an epic story and collect all sorts of collectables and read about the metroid universe, or play a multiplayer game, which I find can be glitchy almost always, but nothing addicting. I'm still waiting for unique FPS online wii (ie: metroid hunters wii, which would be awesome)

I'm pretty sure you've progressed much farther in the game since you made this video (here you mentioned that you just defeated Thardus), but I have a question: did you happen to obtain the Gravity Suit? I noticed that you had some minor complaints regarding graphics, in particular the water and the magma. Now, this is probably just my personal opinion, but I think the graphical quality of the water improves exponentially after obtaining the gravity suit due to the new visor capabilities.

Wii - controls really make this game one of the best EVER. Playing metroid prime/echoes with a wii controller is like trading in a Volkswagen for a Porche.

oo and ps: veteran is the game's normal mode, and normal is the newly added easy mode. To get the hard mode, you still need to beat the game once

my only complaint with this game is that they don't include the original title screens from the other metroids (which are actually some of the best menu screens in game history). And that it doesn't import the corruption save file, but playing corruption again isn't a bad thing :D
