  • Aww, Hastings. <3

  • Has poirot been in love ever???? Can anyone please throw some light.

  • @russelindia Yes he was, when he was younger and worked in Belgium.

  • @russelindia i think in one of his cases he develops a crush on a female character and she turns out to be the killer!!! i don't remember which book though which is good cause you might come across it and i don't wanna spoil it for you!

  • Nicely done!

  • Again, I say First Class! Many thanks for posting!

  • AAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW....!!!!! <3

  • If the detective had a girlfriend or wife, she just gets in the way. Poirot is like Holmes in this way. Better to simplify the story and not clutter the book.

  • oops...apparently his name was Jacque. not jack......oh well. sounds similar

  • The End was sweet. Though, I thought she was in love with Jack? Didn't she almost kill for him, and even confessed to a murder that she did not commit only to set him free? Seems not very likely that she would fall in love over a small lunch with Hastings --- 'I SAY!' ... jack was way better looking! I really thought she was gonna tease Hastings by going to meet him and say 'Thank You' and 'Farewell'. Total shocker when they ended up kissing. Oh well. great job Poirot!

  • The ending in the book is much better! If you loved this ending then the one in the book will fascinate you...Too bad they removed a few important details from the details of the crime which were important evidence, but I guess it's difficult to adapt 300 pages into 112 minutes

  • I don't get it. If Jacques Renaud was an accomplish on the murder after all by giving Martha the 3rd knife, why didn't Poirot shave half of his moustache and smoked it with the pipe of Girault?

  • @YouDonteverhavetodie because he gave it to her as a present ages before! he gave her a gift which she used to kill somebody

  • I, too, would sincerely appreciate reading the closing credits . . . and hearing the music. Those final minutes are quite valuable to me.

Concerning his love life, M. Poirot states and evidences that his is the study of human behavior, and we praise his acumen. M. Poirot is cautious, keenly alert as he approaches the boundaries of others, as he is when others approach him. Aware and receptive, listening and seeing.

I think M. Poirot will enjoy whatever nature of relationship he chooses.

  • In my opinion, this was the last excellent episode with Hastings.

  • I can see the pattern of comments from the same people in these videos - fans all and so thankful to Ms. Raven here :)

Whenever Poirot fusses so much about his appearance i used to sort of feel bad he had no love companion to appreciate that...guess he primped and preened to please himself... I know I shouldn't feel bad for him...but despite that towering intellect and his fame was he ever lonely without a special someone, I wonder...

  • Cheers!! Deafening applause!!! Standing ovation!!! Here! Here! That is one fabulous wrap!

  • Great ending!

  • It's too bad Poirot never dated anyone seriously in the books, poor Poirot.

  • That was sweet of Poirot looking out for Hastings happiness.

  • I really enjoy these episodes, but would enjoy them so much more, if the credits were allowed to roll.........many times, I want to see who plays whom, but thanks for all your efforts

  • still, I think that that woman doesn't deserve a wonderful man such as Hastings, she's not good enough for him. But as long as he is happy, I'll have to be happy for him.

    God I love this man!

  • @msinvincible2000 Amen to that! ^^

  • @msinvincible2000 : I was following your comments on Mr. Hastings throughout these episodes... And I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the episode itself .. I wish u my best wishes and may u have ur very own Arthur Hastings soon in ur life ...

  • @skchakra1 Oh, thankyou: that is the kindest thing anyone has ever said to me on internet. :)

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhh hastingggg

  • why did you cut the credits music? ;_;

  • Finally got rid of Hastings! I thought Poirot would have to shoot the man himself, but instead he married Hastings off. Good enough, I suppose.

Let's face it, this case could have been solved by part 5 if Hastings hadn't lied his way through the entire movie to protect some woman he did even know. Let her in the evidence room (oh, swoon, the romance!), then lied about her name to everyone, and THEN even after see her pic in another man's room, STILL protected her. Wow, Hastings. Wow.

  • @MiXueLe wow.. what frustration ;-)

  • @MiXueLe lmao!

  • Is this the girl that hastings finally marries? In the books he has several kids and lives in argentina

  • @zem1956

    Yes, that's her.

@HAZIDEAD - it seems contrived because in the book, there are two Duveen sisters, twins if I'm not mistaken, Bella & Dulcie Duveen. Hastings is in love with the totally innocent twin, who merely acts in order to protect her twin sister whom she believes to be guilty. It's that twin sister acting on behalf of Jack Renauld and they, too, end up together. Since they left out one twin, this Bella Duveen had to fulfil both parts, which is admittedly, a bit hard to swallow

  • @zem1956 i think so but he ends i believe coming back to london not sure

  • @zem1956 No, in the book Bella has an identical twin and he marries her, Bella gets back to Jacques.

  • Very well said Hazidead...my husband still cannot figure out why i care so much for these vdos rather than the regular tube serials....love the ending, love alas eh Hastings!

  • Seems to me Poirot wants the people he cares for to be as happy in love as he never was able to be in his time. Wonderful.

  • @Glaynie yes so true :) and he does not deny when he is in love or crushing on someone...unlike another great male detective-Holemes

  • @Glaynie Well, Poirot came close to love, in The Double Clue. Remember, his little rendesvous with the Russian countess, their luncheons and picnics? So, I think he would want to marrry someone "in his station"! I love the entire series, as well, thanks to ravenhaven!

  • @ybatey1 In the books, he only falls in love twice in his life. Of the two, only one is "The Great Love of His Life". Alas, it is unrequited. She gives him a pin/brooch that he puts on, never to take off. The one we always see him wear in this series.

A character in another episode, named Virginie, gives him this pin. I believe Virginie is meant to be his "great love" from the books. With either the Russian countess, or the young lady from the "Blue Train" episode as second in his heart.

  • The ending is contrived but otherwise fantastic. Thanks overwhelmingly for posting. David Suchet's poirot is more addictive than any substance in nature!!

  • Aw Poirot~ !! What a good friend. =]

  • This is one of my favorites ...no ...my favorite

  • loooooooooooove the ending!!! I LOVE POIROT AND HAISTINGS <3 <3

  • thanks for the upload, i enjoyed it!
