I can understand an anorexic person perspective, but I am happy with who I am. No ones perfect, no one ever will be. Heck, if I could write down all my flaws, I'd have a whole list of them! i've never known someone to die from anorexia, but i've known a few people who have had it.. i've seen so many fighters and they manage to stay alive, how come some of them tragically end up dying?
@BarnicleHead the strain on the body is imense, especialy if they are purging (and that doesnt jsut mean throwing up) some take so many drugs (diet pills, laxatives, diuretics etc) and exercise excessivly till eventualy the muscles in the heart are so weak they jsut give up, or the kidneys or liver fail because of the pills, and because of this some die at what is considered a healthy weight and what is tragic is that the medical service wont help unless the person is underweight, so sad

Are you joking. You need to talk to your GP. My friend does it and now she can't stop even though she wants to. You lose self-control if you do. It's definitely not something to be PROUD about. People have actually died from this...
You need help as quickly as you can. Please go to your doctor. This isn't just a minor thing you can switch off when you want. You need to take control as quickly as possible.
Even if you don't see a doctor you really need to try and stop. Cut down then after a week or two go cold turkey. You wont regret it and your health will thank you for it.

No, you're completely right. Anorexia isn't just about appearance it's also a mental thing. Most anorexics are depressed in some way, looking good isn't even the half of it.

Okay. First of all, anorexia is NOT a choice. You can't just decide to have it. It's a mental illness, not just something you 'do'.
Secondly, if you think anorexia is going to make you 'feel better' then you need to grow up. If you want to feel better then dieting and exercising HEALTHILY might do that. Anorexia is a disease.
Becoming anorexic will NOT make you feel better. Starving yourself just makes you tired and moody, so that not only do you end up with the BMI of a a 7yr old but the attention span and temper of one too. Starving yourself over long periods of time often leads to clinical depression, which will also NOT make you feel better. Saying you want to be anorexic is basically saying "I want a mental illness that leads to mental and physical problems that I'll have to deal with for the rest of my life!"
it makes me so sad and angry when people want to have an eating disorder. Anorexia and bulimia have caused me nothing but suffering and runied relationships, it has taken over my life. it does NOT make you happpy or feel better. and you do not just become anorexic. its a MENTAL ILLNESS. You do not just chooose to have it. Yoiu should really inform yourself of the devastation that eating disorders can cause before making statements like "i want to be anorexic"

i think they went a little over the top with the make up and clothes and stuff. Ive been pretty ill before and I know that the last thing i want to do is look sick - i was piling on the makeup and doing everything I could to hide my weight loss - but with layers and decent clothes - walking around like a bag lady looking ill and advertising was the last thing i wanted. Also - did any one notice how Hannah never got dizy or palps or anything ?
I agree with the dizy and palps (though she did faint once...but still...) well my sister was ill for a while and she looked dreadfull and just stopped carring for a while, she was wearing whatever and didn't bother with make up...so I don't know, guess it depends on the person

No, you're completely right. Anorexia isn't just about appearance it's also a mental thing. Most anorexics are depressed in some way, looking good isn't even the half of it.

@StarryGlimmer Why do people keep talking about boys? It's heterosexist but also disrespectful of straight women. My eating disorder had to do with punishment and control, not looking good for boys. Group therapy also proved how little most ED patients cared about dating. Find a better line for recovery that sexual attraction.

My family are like the Ashworths apart from we dont have Josh. Theres my mum who is exactly like Suzanne, my dad who isnt so much like Neville but in a way he is, my brother who is like Rhys (thinks hes amazing) and me who is like Hannah (suffer from bulimia and feel worthless etc) I suppose Josh could be my cousin who is very close to my brother. And we even own a shop lol strange but true

Lol i know Emma Rigby and her parents. Her dad believe it or not is actually Jewish and her mother is half Hungarian and the other half i don't know, probably English. She used to live over ther road from me but her parents still live over the road. I can't believe i'm seing what she gets up to on Hollyoaks.

gloria50us...anorexia has stolen 5 years out of my life. everyday i have to battle with my mind to try and lead a healthy lifestylr, to be normal like all of my friends. you dont understand how hard it is to sit there and constantly think about food etc whilst your friends and familys biggest worries are what theyre going to wear the next day, if they need to go food shopping etc. you do not want this disease. it destroys everything in your life and worse it destroys your soul

Okay. First of all, anorexia is NOT a choice. You can't just decide to have it. It's a mental illness, not just something you 'do'.
Secondly, if you think anorexia is going to make you 'feel better' then you need to grow up. If you want to feel better then dieting and exercising HEALTHILY might do that. Anorexia is a disease.

Becoming anorexic will NOT make you feel better. Starving yourself just makes you tired and moody, so that not only do you end up with the BMI of a a 7yr old but the attention span and temper of one too. Starving yourself over long periods of time often leads to clinical depression, which will also NOT make you feel better. Saying you want to be anorexic is basically saying "I want a mental illness that leads to mental and physical problems that I'll have to deal with for the rest of my life!"

it makes me so sad and angry when people want to have an eating disorder. Anorexia and bulimia have caused me nothing but suffering and runied relationships, it has taken over my life. it does NOT make you happpy or feel better. and you do not just become anorexic. its a MENTAL ILLNESS. You do not just chooose to have it. Yoiu should really inform yourself of the devastation that eating disorders can cause before making statements like "i want to be anorexic"

i think they went a little over the top with the make up and clothes and stuff. Ive been pretty ill before and I know that the last thing i want to do is look sick - i was piling on the makeup and doing everything I could to hide my weight loss - but with layers and decent clothes - walking around like a bag lady looking ill and advertising was the last thing i wanted. Also - did any one notice how Hannah never got dizy or palps or anything ?

I agree with the dizy and palps (though she did faint once...but still...) well my sister was ill for a while and she looked dreadfull and just stopped carring for a while, she was wearing whatever and didn't bother with make up...so I don't know, guess it depends on the person
