hey it will be amazing if could upload tat video with no background soundtrack cos am making a new film and looking for good car crash sound effects!!
Chargers and Belvedere's gained huge popularity since the Dukes of Hazzard and Christine. This prolly saved more of them from the crusher then they used up during filming.

I just saw "Live Free or Die Hard". It is an incredibly boring movie even though it is nothing but mostly action sequences. This video is actually way better than the movie.
The VIP was the most expensive top of the line Plymouth in 1968. The 2 door fastback hardtop was a rare model. It is a shame that car was not restored. Although I am impressed to hear that at least the engine was saved. The '75-'76 Cadillac had an unusual roof treatment, but looked rougher. The T-Bird looked like too much work to restore. The Taurus had no value and is the kind of car that should be destroyed in movies.
The Plymouth was an odd car. I'm not sure of the model on that one. The previous owner had "modified" it. All of the original name plates had been removed and some curly-q lettering saying "VIP" had been put in its place. The only original plate that still existed said "Commando" and "V8."
@jonmichaels74 The 1968 Plymouth VIP was basically a high trim level Plymouth Fury, with different emblems, a fancier interior and possibly other power options. The Commando designated the big-block engine, (not a 6 cylinder or small block 318). They are relatively rare, but it is/was all original and done at the factory.
I remember the owner of the junk yard (and driver of the Cadillac... a demolition derby driver) saying that it was a '68 Ford. I couldn't remember the model. I'm a sound guy. Not so much of a car guy.
Interesting. I didn't expect to get a response. I have nothing against car crashes in movies, but I hate seeing antique cars destroyed, especially when the plot doesn't require an antique car. They are irreplaceable, and most people don't even know they are seeing a rare car destroyed when something common could have been used instead. If these were already in a junkyard, I guess they would have been crushed anyway.
The old cars were purchased from a junk yard for $300 each. The Plymouth and the Taurus had working engines. The Mustang did not. The engine in the Plymouth was saved and it will live again in another vehicle. Other than that, it was in much worse shape that it appears to be in this video.
Why did antique cars have to be smashed for a sound recording when no one will see them? That '68 Plymouth looked like a nice car before it got smashed.
great video, annoying music...why have music in this??

Im not. Can you imagine a Prius getting its gas pedal stuck and rear ending this cadillac? That would not be good for the Prius owner eh?

There is no Mustang. It was a 67-69 Thunderbird. It looked like it needed too much work though. The Taurus was certainly no loss.
