  • i thought cichlids were freshwater?

  • @TheMysteryman334 They are!

  • @federicojmiranda but doesnt purple algae grow in saltwater?

  • @TheMysteryman334

I think you are talking about the coraline algae for saltwater. This maroon looking algae grows in freshwater. I am just comparing it to coraline algae. I usually put 1 tablespoon of salt per 5 gallon of water which makes the maroon algae grows. I would have to make a correction on the description as It can be confusing. thanks

  • Very nice looking tank!

  • hi can you exsplane please how you manage to do this i have lots ov ocean rock i would love to get this cover on pleaseeee reply pete uk :)

  • @pete20109 They call it lace rock that I get from a Local aquarium store. I put them on top of each other and the water hold it together as they absorb water. No need to glue it.

  • WOw nice fish tank how many gallon is this?

  • Wow! I love this tank! Your wife needs to let you upgrade, it will be twice as beautiful!

  • was the lace rock "live" when you purchased it?

is the algae what they call "coralline algae"?

  • how did you get purple algae in your tank ?

  • @smartpartsvibe1295

Use of lace rock and T5 lighting with marine light

  • @federicojmiranda can you be more specific about the light bulb being used. a link maybe?

  • wow, what a nice set-up, how big is that tank? looks awesome!

  • It is 75 gallon. I am convincing my wife to upgrade later to 180 gallon as some of the cichlid will get bigger by next year.

  • well it looks really nice. i wish i had one like that. i recently got a 55 gallon that i am setting up.

  • Purple Algae growing all over the rock. The brown and green algae are almost non-existence when this beautiful purple looking algae started growing. The cichlid also nibles on this besides the plecos.
