The vast majority of twin engine aircraft have their engines/propellers turning in the same direction. They are slightly harder to fly when going slow, but they most certainly do not fly sideways. There are also aircraft that exist whose props turn in opposite directions, to cancel torque.
use a thinner, better link (eg a rubber band) and twist the last axcel by 180*
That way, it will spin in the opposite direction (although the rubber band might rub against itself) If you twist the last axcel by 90* instead of 180, then attach another axcel at 90* to that, then it wont rub.
