  • where did u get that trailer??

  • @LaxRocker36 Hi I bought the wheels and frame as a box trailer from a friend of my fathers and made it into the boat trailer, you can see how I did it on another video on you tube,

    Graeme.

  • @bogsdolics ok thanks

  • hi Mr lennard55 , thanks i wish I had more time to go out in her <

    Graeme.

  • Beautiful boat

  • Who is the artist singing? Great voice.

  • @genoLive Hi its my cousin I have tried to get her to make it available but she has declined so far , shame.

  • did you use epoxy and fiberglass?

  • @SthealthRaider Hi no just good quality glue and stainless steel screws,

  • @bogsdolics so how did you made it waterproof O.o

  • @SthealthRaider Hi well you build a frame made of wood in the shape of the boat and glue and screw the plywood to the frame , the plywood acting as a skin with the glue sealing it to the frame so you end with a water proof boat, and i suppose the six coats of varnish helps a little,

  • thanks a lot for the site

  • @xipootedmomx your welcome

  • would u scan the instructions and send them to my email,,i dont have any money and my parents wont pay for it

  • @xipootedmomx Hi the book is to old and damaged to scan ,If you go to this site you should find something lots of free boat plans,

  • I want a copy of her CD too! Beautiful!

  • hello,

as the others have stated...how can we ascertain a copy of your cousin's CD!! does she have a website/email or downloadable somewhere?

My friend wants to build a boat similiar to yours, and we both love your boat & this song.

  • Hi I have just sent an email to see if we can get this sortted will let you know.

  • it rained for forty years?... you must live in England

  • Hi no I stay nearer the clouds, in gods country Scotland

  • Great Video, my wife loves the song, is there somewhere where we can get her music?

  • Hi I do not see my cousin very often ,But I will try to see if she can set you up with a copy,

  • Thank you for answering my question. I have a wall steam iron which I don't use very much. I will build a box, thanks for the tip. I jus recieved half of a canoe. It has to be about 70 years old. It has some dry rot in the bow and the sides seem to be in fair condition considering the age. I will make the other half with stitch and glue and quarter inch plywood from local lumber. What type of did you use?OKUME is not found in CHICAGO and is exspensive.I am looking for a good deal on epoxy Thks

  • Hi I only used local bought marine plywood ,there was no choices, remember to soak the wood first and the wood is hot when it comes out and you can reheat if needed ,I practiced on scrap wood first its not as hard as it seams,

    Bogsdolics

  • Tank,s I did faund a lumber jard today and I AM LOKING FOVORD to do it and good lock for your new work .

  • Hi I just reread your comment ,I do not know if you can steam plywood, if that what your going to do, you need more advice,

    Bogdolics

  • thank you steam box is looking good what kind stimer is that. you did put love in work it shows Marinko

  • Hi DundoMarinko It was a labour of love, It was my mums wallpaper stripper with the piece you put on the wall removed ,leaveing the hose which I put in a drill hole at the bottom of the box,I was told to wet/soak the wood 1st,also big ship yards used to put the qood in the river before steaming/bending,

    Bogsdolics.

  • Good jobs. I try to me one for own use

  • Thanks post a video or pictures and let me know where so I can see ,

    bogsdolics.

  • You made a greate Job. I also built a boat of my own, but compaired with your work, I´m a dilletant, see the video answer.

In Germany, there are not many people, who build a boat at home.

  • Hi thankyou for your kind words,I started with a simple canoe and worked up, I liked your boat,I dont think there are many home boat builders in Scotland, well I do not know any,

  • Great boat and tell your cousin that we love her song.Great video altogether. Thanks for posting

  • Hi I will thanks for watching and posting ,I will tell her ,always good to get feedback .

  • Pretty cool to builb from scratch

  • Hi thanks,Hey if I can do it with no training any one can ,go for it .

  • I'm going to post your video on my website, if that's okay.I've got a page called Guerrilla Boat Building...your design is a great project for an in-garage builder!

I also posted an update on my dory DULCINEA...it's gettin' there!

  • Hi yes thats ok, whats the link to your website and I will look at it also going to look at the DULCINEA,

  • Thanks for checking the place out! It's easier to go to my link guerrillaflyfishing . com at my youtube site and just follow the link on there to Tales of 5 Rivers

  • My name is Paul, I'm Brazilian.

    beautiful boat!

    Can you name this music?

  • Hi Paul thankyou for your knid words, the song is my cousin's she wrote and sings as well as playing the guitar its called "thankfull"

  • Great design! Crisp lines and especially like the wood tones with light wood contrasting with dark.

Spending my winter working on my first rowing dory, may as well throw my retirement fund into epoxy rather than some mutual.

    Cheers

  • Hi a great way to spend your time enjoy and post you finished work.

  • ok thanks for the comments

  • great boat, shitty song

  • Hi I built it over a year and at weekends and evenings, I would guess you could build one about 7-10 days allowing for glue and paint to dry[I hope to built a strip kayak next then maybe a sailing dinghy]to make it into a sailing dinghy all you would need to do is strengthen the floor add a mast post probably incorperated into the front thrwart, to make it pointed at the front just, adjust the moulds at the start as the boat is 8ft long you would need to join the ply, again not a hard job,

  • Awesome!

Home many days does it took?

I would like to buil one too for sailing, so i wonder could i build one as you did but with a sharp bow? Is it possible?

  • A couple of days, couple of years. Who cares. The end product was well worth the time. It's an absolutely beautiful boat. And the music seems appropriate for the relationship between captain and vessel.

    Well done.

  • kind words indeed and I thankyou

  • does ply really stay in the bent shape without any conditioning?

  • tried to reply to this earlier,Anyway yes it.s glued and screwed in postion it.s maybe not as big a curve as it looks?

  • Wonderful boat and well done. Something to be proud of. Thanks

  • No Thank you, yes I am proud maybe wish I could get more time and better wether to go out on her[why are boats always female]

    mmm

  • u dont know why boats are female? well i know. but my english isnt so good to write it

  • great job nice turn out to

  • Hi thanks I found it realy hard to get a good picture of the finished boat.

  • Beautiful and well built boat, the music is great too. What an inspiration. Thank you.I'm going to put the slide shows of my boat on you tube also.

  • Thankyou I will look forward to your video.

  • i have a 2 hp yamaha motor lying around in the garage and i have thought about making a dinghy or something for fishing in and seeing your boat has inspired me! that is a beautiful boat and i love how the hull looks! simply excellent! 5/5!

  • Hi thankyou kind sir,you could do it no problem I had no boat building experence before I started type in free boat building plans and you will get lots of great free plans, although I did this one from a book if you build it you would need to use thicker wood for the transom and I would put two morw knees from the transom to the sides, you can build it go go go .

  • Many designs of boats can be made in a matter of weeks. But none of them looks as sturdy and beautiful as yours. You did an awesome job.

  • Hi yea well some of the wood was bought and some I used was lying around the farm where the boat was built so it was more use what I had than what was bought to suit!

All I need is more time to get out and enjoy it, rool on the spring.

    thankyou for your comment.
