Kim Dong-Sung was supposedly dqed for cross tracking, a motion made to intentionally impede another athlete. At 4:50, it almost looks like he is extending his arm to prevent a pass while cutting inward and Ohno does lose a considerable amount of speed.
That said, that was an extremely subjective rule to enforce and such rules result in BS calls.

For the record, I am an American, but I like Koreans. I lived in Suwon and in Kangnung when I taught English there. I've been to Itaewon, Soraksan, Namdaemoon, Inchon. Korea is a beautiful country with beautiful people. I would love to visit there again someday.

I'm Korean-American, and I don't understand WHY Koreans hate Ohno. Dong Sung CROSS TRACKED OHNO. Yeah, Ohno has made many mistakes and has probably broken many rules in his lifetime! Listen y'all, what I saw was that Ohno put his hands up so that he wouldn't bump into and interfere with the Korean skater. Hardly . . . hardly "acting." To say that he was is laughable.
That said, while I don't know the rules of short-track speed skating, if that was the infamous incident that has all of South Korea blind with rage, then I don't see what the big deal was. To me, the Korean should've won the Gold.
But as I said, I don't know the rules of this sport.

I've never said that Ohno doesn't bumb other skaters. In short-track there is going to be bumping . . . . by Koreans and others.
I stand by my comment that while I believe Ohno was putting his hands up so he wouldn't interfere with the Korean skater, it also looked to me like the Korean should've won the gold medal.
This Korean RAGE vs. Ohno is ascinine. It isn't reasonable.

I don't know if Ohno has ever claimed to be THE best. Maybe he has, but I've never heard anything.
Obviously Koreans are very good at speedskating - good for them. :-)! But, some people say that they skate very agressively, which can come across as playing dirty too. I'm not saying that I think that way. I'm just saying that some people do.
Seems to me in Short-Track there is such a fine line between skating clean or what some people might consider "dirty."

I think most anyone would have to agree that Ohno is a good skater. However, one of the ways I think his possible arrogance may come into play is that he always seems to wait until the final two laps before making his move to the front from the back. It is as if he wants to show everyone how good he is by coming from behind. I would think that if he didn't always wait until the last minute he could avoid some unneccesary controversy and aggressive maneuvering.

For the record, I am an American, but I like Koreans. I lived in Suwon and in Kangnung when I taught English there. I've been to Itaewon, Soraksan, Namdaemoon, Inchon. Korea is a beautiful country with beautiful people. I would love to visit there again someday.
Also, Ohno has retired so you won't have to worry about him anymore. But, I'm sure we have other good skaters to take his place.

okay ohno does cheat, i just watched today's race with the s.koreans winning 1&2 and I saw a glimpse of ohno hand on a s.korean player's back when they were showing ohno's slip from the push of a Canadian player. (it's there don't deny, it's just hard to catch since it's like 2-3 sec)
also these koreans clearly won because of skill, there were no instants where they laid their hands on another skater. ohno is not a bad skater, he just is too greedy for gold and doesn't accept his mistakes.
