911fo- the majority of US people are so docile that they wouldnt even understand what you mean by 'not legally elected'. By majority I mean the bulk of uneducated, hyper religious, supposedly 'patriotic' people. I say patriotic but how can this be so when they are so blinded that they cant even raise their voices when their country does something morally wrong. To do so would be 'unpatriotic'. Strange logic that. Blind love I would call it!

Sounds a lot more like fear than patriotism. I am not American but when I lived there briefly I felt a hugely the pressure to fit in. Possibly the reason many other cultures do not emphasise that is it has its negative side - blind obedience to the "deer leader" as Chomsky puts it.

It seems like Noam seems a bit awkward talking about personal things. Hes normally so objective in a conversation.
