@xr100jp Congrats on buying your first muscle car and it being a foxbody. I'm on my fourth foxbody and I gotta tell ya these cars are a lot of fun to drive and to work on. I would say get an E303 cam for an automatic. If it's going to be your daily driver, I would recommend buying a 2,200-2,500 stall converter. I also hear very few people don't run a high stall converter at all but once you start buying "go fast goodies" it will be neccesary to upgrade the converter. I'm glad I can help.

@xr100jp- you can run a B303 cam with stock pistons. I'm running edelbrock heads, E303 cam with stock pistons. No problems at all. BUT, I still say you should check for clearance issues anyways. If you are using stock heads, upgrade the valve springs.

I really love it, its got an insane pull once the wastegate opens and you cant beat all the little touches like the factory Recaro racing seats the huge brembo brakes and the enki racing rims (which I wanna change, but they will do for now). Its around 300 Awhp, to the ground not crank at 21 psi tappering to 17 by redline. I love the way the all-wheel does in rain and snow but hate not being able to burn out :(
Yeah for sure! My fox can't stop to save its life! The power those Evo's make from the factory is incredible. I hear tires become expensive pretty quick with those things... I think with bigger injectors, a heavier wastegate spring and a high performance clutch you could fix that little burnout problem ; )

@jas3118325 nice job on the stang, nothing sounds better than the tone out of the 5.0s about the 3.73s better late than never i have 3.73s in mine and honestly I like them alot. I almost got 3.55s to start off with. you tend to break out a little easier with the 3.73 but the mods you have should compensate.
Just find one with the clutch pedals. The transmission is easy to change, literally only about 3-4 hours to get the old one out, new one in and hook all the linkages up. The pedals are a pain in the ass on just about every car ever produced. Definitely worth it in my opinion, because automagics just don't cut it with a badass car.
Not much work from what I have heard. You need the clutch pedal assembly, clutch cable, and all the manual trans components. All you have to do is swap trannys. The driveshaft and bellhousing are identical. You need a new speedo gear and you need to re-route your speedo cable. Your clutch cable will be routed through the same grommet your speedo cable was. Its pretty straightforward. I considered it for a while but I like the driveability of my auto.

SLP is the worst sounding exhaust IMO.. Sounds ricey.. My Civic with 3in straight turboback is no where near as raspy.
I had flows on my mustang, ditched that setup for Mac produmps & O/R h-pipe.. now thats makes a real mustang exhaust note.

Yeah stock block but with gasket matched E7 heads and Gastkit matched/ ported upper and lower, but other than that it was stock except for every bolt on in the book. I miss the car its sold now, But you better belive my next mustang will be an 03-04 Cobra

That is definitely a sick fox! The only reason i ask about the short block is that I am planning to eventually turbo my mustang and they are only reliable up to about 400hp (according to the turbo forums). I LOVE the 03-04 cobras. They are flatout mean. So how many stangs have you had?

Haha yeah no doubt! I really love it, its got an insane pull once the wastegate opens and you cant beat all the little touches like the factory Recaro racing seats the huge brembo brakes and the enki racing rims (which I wanna change, but they will do for now). Its around 300 Awhp, to the ground not crank at 21 psi tappering to 17 by redline. I love the way the all-wheel does in rain and snow but hate not being able to burn out :(

Yeah for sure! My fox can't stop to save its life! The power those Evo's make from the factory is incredible. I hear tires become expensive pretty quick with those things... I think with bigger injectors, a heavier wastegate spring and a high performance clutch you could fix that little burnout problem ; )

O ok thats what I was thinking...Im sure ill own another mustang but Ive been driving the Evo for over a month now and its 3 times the car any mustang I had was. and I couldnt NEVER think of going in the snow with a mustang thats suicide and I Felt like a boss driving through 10 inches of snow the other week.

@jas3118325 nice job on the stang, nothing sounds better than the tone out of the 5.0s about the 3.73s better late than never i have 3.73s in mine and honestly I like them alot. I almost got 3.55s to start off with. you tend to break out a little easier with the 3.73 but the mods you have should compensate.

Just find one with the clutch pedals. The transmission is easy to change, literally only about 3-4 hours to get the old one out, new one in and hook all the linkages up. The pedals are a pain in the ass on just about every car ever produced. Definitely worth it in my opinion, because automagics just don't cut it with a badass car.

Not much work from what I have heard. You need the clutch pedal assembly, clutch cable, and all the manual trans components. All you have to do is swap trannys. The driveshaft and bellhousing are identical. You need a new speedo gear and you need to re-route your speedo cable. Your clutch cable will be routed through the same grommet your speedo cable was. Its pretty straightforward. I considered it for a while but I like the driveability of my auto.
