I prefer skinny men but didn't fancy Gary at first as he had long dark hair and wore ill fitting clothes.

A 32 year old man with a hot body and who's used to performing in public being self conscious about taking his shirt off for a few seconds on stage!!. It's not like he had to strip down to his underpants.

He's looking a little podgier and more muscular than when he took his shirt off on stage in Germany in 2006.

@lemsip 'Podgier' and 'Gary Lightbody' are mutually exclusive terms don't you know! Mind you he looks hellishly skinnier in those German ones..

He just needs to tone up his abs but his arms are still very skinny. Compared with 2006 he was even skinnier around the Tsunami gig and Live 8 when he was wearing loose t-shirts to cover up. Apparently now he thinks he has a bit of a beer belly which he's embarassed about.

The camera does put on a few pounds so he would look even thinner off camera.

The girls in the audience were screaming at that point as if they were teenagers at a Justin Bieber concert. Poor Gary it would have added to his embarassment about taking his shirt off.
