Your style(paani) sounds great as it is but if I can take the liberty of subjective observation, I'd like to say:
1)Add a bit more zip to your gamakas. This could hurt but would sound more carnaticish if you did it.
Modern greats like Mandolin Srinivas or Prasanna let the frets rip to create the heaviness !
2)Guitar offers a lot of continuity by design and we exploit it. Some phrases sound great if there are micro pauses inbetween. This can be observed when a master like Ravikiran plays.
