  • would someone care to read the comments below?

filipinos really know how to start a fight and it's not good.

  • @acinomgirl i do agree. we can be proud but in many times this too much pride stirs trouble. it even gets annoying. but having said that, i love Lea. she's beautiful and got the voice of an angel. a very talented woman.

  • of course no other filipino has won an olivier nor a tony because none of them worked outside the philippines! stupid!

  • @acinomgirl you are stupid... none of them worked outside the Philippines??? as in NONE???? Engot amp!

  • @henrymaux33 Lea won the Tony because she worked on Broadway and the Olivier because she worked in the UK. Nationality should be secondary. In fact, Boublil, Schoenberg, and Mackintosh went to the Philippines to find Lea, it wasn't as if she left and went to London to try her hand at stardom like some starstruck kid. While I realize she is a national treasure in the Philippines, why can't the world just admire her beauty and her voice and let nationality take a backseat?

  • @acinomgirl you're kidding?

  • @acinomgirl I think you are trying to be knowledgeable in your comment, when, in fact you are not knowledgeable. There are some Filipinos who worked outside the country as broadway actors and actresses, but, none of them is excellent to win an Olivier and Tony.

  • @acinomgirl YOU are stupid! get your facts straight before blabbing in here moron!

  • @msgatotito can you name other filipino who's worked outside the country and are on the news? besides, i'm not being disrespectful to their talent, i'm just saying...

  • @acinomgirl well yes dear.. joanna ampil is one, did perform in a couple of west end musicals but wasn't good enoug for an olivier. suck that!

besides you have to be great to be on broadway and better than great to get a tony or an olivier.. and not many filipinos are good enough for broadway, or for a tony and an olivier.. so shut the fuck up, and just be proud of a filipino who's brought so much pride to your country!

  • go Miss Lea go!!~~XD #OMG

  • FILIPINO RULES!!!! talagang magaling tayo sa lahat! proud to be a FILIPINA!

  • tama!!!

  • LOL

  • sino si Susan boyle kumpara kay Lea?? Sira ulo!

Our nat'l language have a lot of Spanish words, which u have spoken all ur life. I doubt if U know D exact spelling, meaning , pronunciation of these words. Ur knowledge is limited 2 what u only know coz of ur education, experience, social, environmental factors. Does a full blooded Spanish person hve D right 2 label U as stupid, retarded, dumb, Boba?

  • is she available???

  • yes.

  • No she's married with a kid.

  • what? she is married and with a kid...

  • Hahaha :P

  • She is married to a Japanse-Chinese guy who grew up in the Us. Their first baby is Beverly Nicole Chen. :-)

  • pinoy asawa nya dude i work at naia i meet her father in law pure pinoy

  • Hi U referring to my last comment? Well if you are referring to Rob, Lea's better-half, he is not Filipino. He is a mix of Chinese and Japanese but he looks Filiino though. :-) I am not a dude anyway :-)

  • her asawa is not pinoy at all. he grew up in u.s.

  • haha i think it's beverly nicole CHIEN. her husband is robert chien.

  • I re-visited this site when pocayama2 replied to my post. I don't know what I was trying to say then. I watched Lea Salonga when she was young, I read almost all about her when she was in London and I watched her video clip when she was marrying her man who was all choked up and could'nt say his vows; Lea kept on saying ."it's Ok." I felt my eyes were wet of joy and happiness I felt for her.. the girl that I watched through the years! ... And I think she is prettier now more than ever.

  • warning? lol

  • Notice in interviews that Lea seems prouder when reminiscing the time she won the Olivier than the Tony. It's because the Olivier competition was more stiff. Her Tony rivals were not as illustrious. One of them, Cathy Rigby, was a gymnast.

  • she won it first than tony

  • About the other nominees: Elaine Paige was the original Evita in London and also played the lead in Cats, if not the original, at least the best who ever played it. She is one of the two voices in the popular song "I Know Him So Well." Judy Kuhn is the singing voice of Pocahontas and had been nominated (twice, I think) at the Tonies prior to this head-on with Lea.

  • one admirable trait of theater people are their giving attitude. they let each other shine and never attempt to steal the show from the lead actors. the discipline required in theater acting is really rigid.

  • pls vote for Lea Salonga at voote website (u know what letters come before and after the "voote" word, can't post it here) as Hottest Female of Asian Origin

  • My God, that's Lea Salonga! Nurhaliza can't beat her!!! Why compare a world-class singer who won international credible awards to an unknown singer? Duh!!!

  • yo! i played together with the orchestra when you sung in cebu last jan 2007.i was proud i witness how you rehars and how you perform...nodought w ur quality

  • sibirtch, are you talking about lea? or pringles?

  • she's brilliant! very gifted and talented! and has always remained humble and down-to-earth. a real genius!

  • i remember watching this awards live.i was 5 and i was in london with family. none of us could believe it. i've got the full awards ceremony somewhere at home but i lost it in the video stack. they had THE BEST cast for miss saigon, u won't believe

  • wow! this is so great, she made us proud to be pinoy!

  • Feb. 22 2007 : Happy 36th B-day Lea! I Love You!

  • yay lea!!! =D

  • monique was so jealous of her, she couldn't see straight.

  • no, she wasn't. did you understand what monique said about her? she said lea was really great as kim, being able to win both tony and laurence olivier. i don't think you understood what monique said..

  • I don't think Monique is jealous. In theater, everybody is involve in making the show successful not just the lead actor. They help one another. Nobody acts as 'primadonna' in theater. The discipline they get is tough. Monique is also very good in her role as the bar girl Mimi. All of them are amazing!!

  • i would agree...only people who are involved in theater or had been in theater truly understands what really means the word "WORK" that means everybody it even includes backstage crew...:)
